It looks great and I have much more confidence that this will keep my handlebars in place (6 bolts) while at the same time being stronger than most other stems. I’m no expert but I’ve read that BMX stems, (especially the higher end stems) are made stronger than mountain bike stems on average because mountain bikes are often expected to have front suspension. Seems to make sense. I bought this to beef up my old Trek 930 mountain bike in preparation for a future motor.

Thompson stem works great
I put this stem on my 25 year old Boss BMX cruiser race bike. The original Redline stem had started to develop a crack and was ready to snap at any time. The crack was caused by me over tightening it. The Thomson had the same 6 bolt design that first attracted me to the Redline unit. My new Thomson stem is VERY well made, strong, and attractive. It’s so good looking that I hate running a stem pad on it. Raced with it last night and there was zero bar movement. This is a real high stress area especially when you’re like me and not a very smooth racer. Great value for the money.
