I always look the better my bikes, this is the best thing I have ever gotten for my bike. I have a 29 inch 7 speed cruiser with 3 inch street slicks. I love the old school ape hanger handle bars but the throttle shifter that came with the bike would not fit the custom handle bars i got. this shifter/brake handle system works beyond expectations, the shifter is a dream, reminds me of those paddle shifters in race carsone switch for up shifting and one for down shifting and you only click it, no pushing to the gear position but click it and it auto shifts, works smoothly with any shimano 7 speed cassette. buy this system for your bike if you don’t have it. you will thank me for it.

Works with my ’89 Gary Fisher Montare
I thought that you couldn’t use newer Shimano spacing on an older Shimano bike– I read it somewhere. Then I lost my salvaged 7x shifter that I was going to replace the broken one on my 1989 Montare with because I didn’t get to it right away when my back hurt. So $20 for a new shifter, but it was fairly easy to install and just still requires some adjustment, but it looks like it is working fine with my old spacings. (Then two day after install found my old salvage 7x shifter that had been missing for years). The shifter seem fine if a little large compared to my older shifters. They gave me a new derailleur cable, but no brake cable. It’s nice to have a fully functioning bike back.

J’ai commandé deux freins shifter shimano EF 500 de deux fournisseurs différent, un trois et un sept vitesses, un est arrivé dans une boite shimano l’autre dans un sac no name, un avait un ajustement pour V-Brake ou cantilever pas l’autre un avait une barre pour trois doigts l’autre pour deux, je ne suis pas certain que ce soit du véritable shimano ou une copie chinoise malgré le fait qu’il soit écrit shimano dessus et que la description mentionne fabricant Shimano, il fonctionne quand meme bien et est 25$ moins chère que celui que je préfère.

Love this 7-speed shifter
For older mountain bikes, this is a great shifter and brake combo. Love the trigger and thumb controls for shifting. Hand never bumps shift accidentally like other shifters. The cable comes already threaded into the shifter (I dont think the shifter cable is replaceable but I could be wrong ). Works great on a early 2000 model Diamondback Sorrento mtn bike.

Excellent quality, affordable, and exact replacement for my old shifter
This is pretty much an exact replacement for the one that came with my bike. Having failed to lubricate my cable for too long, my shifter recently gave out. This comes with a new shifter cable pre-installed, and is so very nice. (I also replaced my chain and rear derailleur at the same time, as well as lubed the outer cables)

It works, but there is no way to fine-tune the cable other than by completely loosening and retightening the nut that secures the far end of the cable with varying amounts of tension. I have seen (and used) better shifters that have a screw adjuster on the shifter itself which can fine-tune the tension of the cable. For this one, you’ll just have to try again and again until you happen upon the right amount of tension; it’s tedious, but with patience, it does work.

Perfect replacement for my old combined brake/ shifter on my vintage 1995 Trek 980
This was the perfect replacement for my old combined brake/ shifter on my vintage 1995 Trek 980. Installation was easy and it comes with the shifter cable. Unlike the old brake/shifter it was replacing, the shift lever does not come with a barrel adjuster, which I assume is a newer design. Not an issue as there is a barrel adjuster on the derailler end and the shift cable fits just fine into the shift lever housing.

Great combo shifter
I have an older bike and the original equipment (STX) failed and I wanted a similar replacement. These were exactly what I needed. Cable for derailleurs are already attached and I was able to use my original brake cables.These install easy enough as long as you realize they slip on from the end of the handle bar. You should not attempt to open the clamp up so wide that it will fit around the handle bar as it will likely break. I had to remove to slip on grip covers and then easily slid these into place
