Exact replacement (except for color)
This product made my helmets like new again and so I’m really glad that I bought and installed two of them.I looked on YouTube for help with the installation and the videos that I saw were worse than useless, so here are two essential hints: FIRST, you will have to undo the straps and re-thread them through the RocLoc. There’s no way around this. But it’s not hard. Just take a couple of pictures and be careful that you don’t get confused and can put the straps back the first time. SECOND, the only hard part of the installation of the RocLoc itself is getting the t-tab in the back into place. A video would indeed be helpful, but lacking that I’ll just say don’t be afraid the bend the plastic and use some force. It will take a little finger strength and resolve, but it’s actually fairly easy. Until I resolved to do just this I thought that getting the new unit installed wouldn’t be possible.

This is a direct replacement for helmets that currently have a RocLoc 5 system in place.
Read description! The RocLoc 5 arrived quickly and was as expected. However I was looking to upgrade and older lock system in my first generation Giro Atmos. These cannot be retrofitted, the connection points are different. This piece is for a helmet that already have a RocLoc 5 system in place. It appears to be a nice quality product none the less.

Dont through out that 100$ helmet. (unless it was actually crashed/smashed)
If you can find this part, it takes only a minute to install and helmet will fit as good as it ever did. I cant recommend this if the helmet was in a crash, because the helmet is not designed to absorb high energy in the foam more than once. But if the head lock feature just got busted snapped or what have you, this will get ypu going.

Works Fine, but Tab to Anchor needed Zip Tie
I successfully replaced the ROC Loc 5 fit system in an older helmet. The tab to anchor didn’t work. Tried the 90 degree snap/twist technique I found online and while that worked on removal of the old one, it didn’t work on the install. A snug small zip tie attached this rear tab (now squished by pliers) to the anchor in the helmet and actually allows for the vertical adjustment. The dial works as expected. Take pictures of original setup to recall the threading of the straps.

I nearly threw away my favorite helmet and luckily came across this. Replacement is a little tricky, but well worth it. Fits perfectly and adjustable just like the original.
