I bought the Bell Radian 850 Light Set for my son’s mountain bike. I’ve had Bell LED headlight products in the past, having used them on my bike and my youngest daughter’s 14″ bike. They are inexpensive which makes them easy to replace and they usually do the job as intended. The Radian 850 broke this trend.The mounting system is the most aggravating setup that I’ve seen on a Bell light assembly. I followed the instructions, put batteries in the headlight, mounted the mount on the handlebar, and attempted to screw the headlight base onto the mount.I kept turning the allen head bolt but it didn’t tighten down. The nut that is supposed to be captured in the mounting bracket was spinning in the plastic.I switched to the second mount and this time found success. I tightened everything down, angled the light as I wanted, and since it was now dark I took my sons bike out for a spin with the headlight on. The headlight is useless. It puts out a 2 foot thick “U” shaped arc of light that is the width of a two lane street. Beyond that the light output made blacktop gray. I contrasted this with the small headlight setup on my daughter’s bike which is also made by Bell. Hers actually works as a headlight despite being rated less bright by a wide margin.I did not buy this assembly on Amazon, I bought it in a popular box store and will be returning it ASAP. Poor quality, stupid design, and horrible light focus and output. DO NOT BOTHER!!!

Worked great for 6 months
Well, it lasted much longer than any other bike light I’ve left on my bike. This one lasted 6 months before someone stole the tail light. Instead of around 1 month. They would have had to had tools to steal it, which did help deter thefts. Now the batteries need replaced in the headlight, but the headlight has now stopped working entirely. Reordering since they’re the best best.

uniquely useful , I like not having to remove and carry around bike lights when going places.
This is the third variation of this light set for me, and the best yet. I use rechargeables, and like that it uses common batteries, which I can buy at any drugstore, just in case a battery goes dead. .I survived one theft attempt when every bike light in the rack at the local pier was stolen except mine, because of the thief resistant attachment. unfortunately, on my last trip to Home Depot, the rear light was stolen, which is pretty useless without the attachment receptacle, but I guess they wanted the reachageable batteries. which led to my buying this improved version . I am very satisfied.One is fitted nicely on my handlebars, and the rear is mounted on a carrier rack, although designed for a frame tube, luckily, it mounted up securely to flat rear span of the rack.perfectly bright, with countless hours of riding before dimness indicates low batteries.

Flawed Design & Poor Build Quality
This item is of beyond poor quality and design. I do not recommend this product to anyone. A waste of my time and an immense disappointment. The use of a metal screw coupled with plastic threading to attach to the bike frame is a pathetic design flaw. The product broke before it was even snug to the seat post. I want a full refund, compensation for my time and a written apology. Thank you.
