I installed this on my specialized hardrock, which has a middle chainring with 32 teeth, and it fit perfectly. I ride my bike everywhere, so I didn’t really want to lose my outer chainring, but it’s better than getting my pants torn up. Nice fit and finish, and really easy to install. Just be sure you buy the right size.

Hey, got one of these along with a N-Gear Jump Stop because I wanted to convert my Marin 29r to a 1×9 as I found that I NEVER used my outer or inner front rings.( Georgia/Alabama mountains have all the gravity I can use for speed and ifin’ I can’t climb something on the second ring I punish my sorry self by pushing it up: rare!) Didn’t want the expense of purchasing a new crank so I ordered the guard. Also hoped to shave a few grams. This thing is great. Install was a breeze. Didn’t even have to pull the crank. Just pulled the bolts, the ring came down and over the pedal, the guard also went right up, perfect fit for the 32 tooth ring. Left the inner ring in place. Less than 5 mins. Can’t say that for the N-Gear. What a pain in the, uh, uh, oh yeah, NECK! Even nicked my frame trying to get it in place. Totally worth it though. Pulled my front de-rail, cable and shifter and shaved an unbelievable 310 GRAMS. Anyone trying to shave a little weight knows how very, very, expensive it can be! <42 bucks!! One of the best mnt bike investments I've ever made. Got a new 26" bike on the way and have already ordered the guard and stop for it.

Great Bashguard
Works like a charm…Went on easy and does not job. Had a triple chain ring, now have a double. I wish I would have done it years ago as i really didn’t use the larger sprocket/chain ring much anyway. Fit on a Shim. XT. Don’t know what else to write about?

Light weight and strong
Very solid bashguard that feels like it weighs nothing. I definitely tapped it in a few rock gardens on the MoCo Northern Epic (50 miler) and it protected my Race Face 1x setup no problem. It’s a great part that I have no hesitation keeping on. I might remove it for a timed event where I know there’s no risk of a bash, but that’s really stretching it since it’s so light.

Very nice bash ring
It’s a well made, good chainring protection and looks pretty good. Only complaint is the width of face covers my accompanying good looking Race Face chainring!

These things are great. This is the second one I’ve bought because they’re light , cheap, and they look good. This is not one of the offset bashguards though. It is not advertised as such, but when added to the shopping cart I says offset bashguard. I was. Little worried when I saw that but when I received it, it was the correct one .

Clean look and great modification to Mtn Bike
Never use the larger chain ring on trains and it was likely to get caught when going over logs. This allowed me to remove the larger ring and then protect the 32T ring. Much easier to get over the larger logs.Suggestion: Adjust your front derailleur to stop after getting to your largest chain ring (I have kept 2 of the 3 rings since I did not want to spend the extra money on a larger gear ratio rear cassette). This adjustment is easy to do with phillips screw driver.

Works as expected, provides good protection for chain ring
I used this chain protector with the Race Face chaining during conversion of my 12 years old Trek bike from 3/10 to 1 by 11 setup and it had fit perfectly the old Shimano Deore XT cranks and works perfectly with the Shimano updated Shimano drive train.
