    Bring the Kitchen Sink Too!

First let me say that this rack is bulletproof. It is sturdier than the rear rack on my bicycle, and it bears heavy loads effortlessly. I bought it for touring on my road bike, and it is more than good enough for that. It would probably be even better for mounting on a trail bike for bike packing, as long as the front fork is rigid. It is a little heavy, which will have an effect on long-distance travel, but unlike most of the other front racks on the market, this one will actually last. Mounting it was easy, but bear in mind that if your bike has caliper brakes you will need to make sure the mounting bracket fits around the brake. the bracket fit just above the center of my center-pull calipers, but I cannot speak for everyone. As for the mounting bars that attach to the axle; I had no trouble whatsoever mounting them. They axle just slides right through the holes. Overall, I would recommend this rack for anyone, unless you are counting grams for an ultra-light load. I would highly recommend it, and will probably buy another one for my other bike.

Pretty good fit, relatively simple install

Note: I will update this review after I’ve used the rack for a while. These are my initial impressions. This rack seems extremely durable and strong. I mounted to my steel fork on my Kona Sutra LTD.The good: mounting was easy enough. I tried it and had a little difficulty getting it to line up well to the mounting points. I watch a YouTube video for the priority rack, which is very similar and was able to figure it out. The key is starting the mounting from the top, not the legs. I also really like that I’m still able to use my anything cages on the fork legs while this is mounted. The bad: there are no mounting instructions. For my bike, mounting was easy but for others I can see where it would be really difficult. It’s also not a simple mounting process to take on and off your bike. I can’t see it working with a boost fork either. My12x100 TA rigid fork was wide enough that I had to flex it a little in order for it to get over both mounting points just above the axle on the fork leg. Last, I bought this rack to work in conjunction with a surly porteur house bag. It works, but the straps don’t line up well and the bag is a little bigger than the rack. Make sure to check any bags you plan to use with this rack. The ugly: nothing major so far. The rack looks good. In it’s optimal mounting position, it seems to be tilted slightly forward, almost not noticable and I think it’ll not have an effect on carrying things. I also scratched a little paint off the back of the fork crown where the bolt goes through. Not noticeable at all except when I actually was mounting. It’s just an awkward spot to get to with a wrench.

Does not fit all bikes, even though it says its compatible with many wheel sizes.

I love this rack, its perfect. But it does not fit modern bikes, and includes very basic hardware for installation. Unfortunately I had to open up a return for this item as I don’t feel comfortable modifying/welding to make this fit on my bicycle. Great product, could include more accessories and maybe different arms to allow it to fit to newer bikes.

Solid front rack for Wabi Classic

I’m very pleased with the Origin8 front rack on my Wabi Classic. It’s very sturdy and it’s perfect for carrying takeout dinner for the family, groceries, and all other kinds of stuff. The rack is very stable although it’s probably a little harder to ride no-handed than it was before with the additional weight on the front wheel. At 2 lbs, it’s 10% of the bike’s weight but that’s why it’s strong. For Wabi riders, the installation was a little unexpected. Wabi has braze-ons right by the front axel. These look perfect for attaching the rack, but sadly they do not work because you can’t get the angles to line up.The adjustable attachment rods coming down from the rack attach to the outside of the skewer/quick-release/axil. While I was initially nervous about it, the attachment has been solid, with no vibration or wheel motion.

Sturdy rack capable of a moderate load

At first I was a bit frustrated trying to mount this rack. Other reviews said to start from the top. I had to bend the top piece of metal to fit over my front rim brakes without rubbing. Then, I discovered the bolt holes in the bottom pieces are large enough to work with an axle, meaning they were too big for the bolts I had (none were included). I attached the bottom connectors to the braze-on, and I trust the vertical movement will be secure. I used washers to ensure the bottom connector does not just slide off my bolts. Once installed, I tried it out and it is much better than the rack I had been using before. I recommend this rack. I wish they included mounting options (bolts, washers, and such) for the bottom connector pieces in the kit.

Not necessarily compatible with modern bikes

Zero instructions, not enough hardware.Seems to require mounting to the front wheel axle as the holes on the rack are WAY to big for fork grommets; though with big enough washers, this may be doable (just haven’t been able to get any yet). But if your bike is new enough (like mine), the front axle (especially with a disk-brake rotor) does not accommodate the rack’s ‘legs’.On top of that, I’m not entirely sure I’ll be able to set this rack to level if/when I do get the washes big enough to mount the legs of it–tho the legs are adjustable so I have some hope.If I can’t, I’ll have to consider this a loss–since I’ve opened it, I cannot return it.btw, I do not have the skills or the confidence to modify this rack to fit my bike if it turns out it can’t.

    Sturdy and Reliable Rack

I purchased this rack for my All City Super Professional, and it has been a great addition. Installation was simple, and the build quality is solid and sturdy. I frequently use it for grocery runs, and it handles the load effortlessly—I’ve never had an issue with stability or performance. If you’re looking for a reliable rack that can hold up to regular use, this is definitely a great option!

Super awesome rack, but needs modifications for a perfect install

The rack is well built, and perfect size, our grocery boxes fit perfectly. The front bars angle down in such a way to keep bungee cords from rubbing on the wheel, and plenty of places to attach bungee cords underneath. When I installed the rack on my 26″ mountain bike, the rack was angled downward, there’s no easy way to fix this since the two rods that drop down are welded at a fixed angle, this is part of the reason the rack is strong, but no adjustment is possible. I imagine on a 700c frame, the bikes forks are longer and the rack would sit flatter. I decided to put a couple bends in the two steel rods to make the rack more level, but it is still about 10 degrees sloped forward. The mounting holes in the two drop down steel rods are huge, I cut the ends off and drilled smaller holes. The front forks on my bike also didn’t have mounting points, so I had to drill and tap some holes. Now that it’s all done, I’m very happy with it. It’s sturdy, and the added weight on the front wheel makes my bike feel more solid, less vibration in the handlebars when I ride. I can still ride with no hands, even with 20# on the rack.

    Nice rack!

Doesn’t get any cooler than this! 😂It fits the bike great and appears to be well built. I don’t have any immediate concerns and look forward to lots of use
