Work great, easy to adjust while riding, easy to install.

The hardest part of installing these mirrors is cutting away the bar ends. If you have plugs in your bar ends, there’s nothing to cut; you just remove the plugs. If you don’t have a good sharp tool to cut away the ends, go to your local bike shop and ask them to do it for you. The rest of the installation is trivial. Each mirror comes with both a large and small wedge (which fit inside the bar ends) and they’ve fit on every bike I’ve tried using one wedge or the other. The image is clear, the mirror doesn’t fog, and it’s much more stable than typical helmet mirrors. I like having a pair of these, one on each side, for my recumbent bike although I was happier with my helmet mirror while riding my Schwinn hybrid. On the recumbent, it’s very hard to turn around to look behind, so mirrors are essential, plus your head stays in one place so the mirrors don’t have to be constantly adjusted (very much like riding in a car). On the “normal” bike, I find that I change my posture a lot (sitting up straight, leaning way over the bars, and everything in between) which requires adjusting the mirrors all the time, so the helmet mirror works better for me on that bike.If you lose just a few parts or break the mirror, you can purchase just those parts directly from the manufacturer. Instructions and prices for doing so are on the instruction sheet that comes in the package. This is the best bike mirror I’ve ever used. If you can’t install your mirror in your bar ends (because you have bar-end shifters or some other reason) then I’d recommend trying one of Mirrycle’s other mirrors. They’re probably just as good as these, just with different mounts.

Helps you ride safely, works great

I like this bike mirror very much.Having a rearview mirror is great – I bike almost exclusively on roads with cars, and it’s great being able to see what’s going on behind you. I can’t believe I didn’t get one sooner. Been using one of these for a couple years now. I’d recommend it for any biker, especially if you ride with cars. You can install it using only the tools included, although I used my own Allen wrench for better leverage. Once in place, the mirror is secure, and I can fold it easily out of the way. The mirror is sturdy – I had one for over a year with no damage, while knocking over my bike and bumping it into racks and doorways. I eventually broke it when I had the thing disassembled and I dropped it mirror-down onto a concrete floor. You can order just a replacement mirror through an order form that’s in the box. Since I move the mirror around a lot, I occasionally have to tighten the screws – very minimal maintenance, I just check it when I’m doing my regular bike tune-up.Having an adjustable mirror is great, much better than a fixed mirror. I carry my bike through transit stations and park it in racks a lot, so I fold the mirror when I’m going up and down stairs, or through narrow passages. It’s cheap, easy to install, sturdy, and helps you be more aware of your surroundings while riding – why not get one? Definitely got more than my money’s worth.

Long bolt missing in the package

I received the package without the long bolt/screw which is the most important part and it is so frustrating that I cannot use the mirror without that part

A must have for me, personally

It works quite well. Installation is fast and fairly simple. It has an easy to read diagram and a step by step installation guide. It does have a snug fit in the threads so you will need to apply some forceful torque during assembly but that’s a good thing. Once you snug it up it stays that way for a long time. This purchase is actually my 3rd one since late 2017 or early 2018. The first one survived so many drops, falls, scrapes and even an endo. At one point I had to re-glue the mirror to the frame but I am thoroughly impressed with how well it held up. I got more than my money’s worth on the first one before the mirror broke. The second one actually broke where the middle elbow attaches. It just cracked apart in two places in a V pattern. Maybe from tightening it, maybe from impact pressure, maybe from breaking down of the plastic but I’m not sure. It still lasted a couple of years… Anyway, I really like these Mirrycle MTB Bar End Mountain Bicycle Mirror , Black and if you want/need a reliable mirror for your MTB I recommend it.Mine is left-side mounted on a Trek, Stache 5. I may add a photo later but I’m sure you get the idea without one.

    Best bike mirror available

This is my second Mirrycle mirror. I used the first one for over 20 years. I made the mistake of trying another brand with a more compact attachment arm. It was distorted, terrible, and all around yucky. The Mirrycle mirror is far superior. And it’s actually made the in the US.- The fit is really excellent.- The mirror is very clear and distortion free (though like all vehicle mirrors, objects are closer than they appear).- It’s adjustable on 3 axes so you can get it exactly where you want it.-1. At the mirror-2. Where the vertical arm connects to the upper horizontal arm3. Where it plugs into the bar end (this requires a hex wrench, the others are adjustable without a tool)-It can be adjusted on the fly, but stays put where you set it.- It folds mostly out of the way for tight parking. Folded inward, it sticks out about an inch from the end of your bars.- It will last as long as your bike and much longer than your tires.

    Good quality highly recommend

Love it. I have this mirror on all of my flat bar bikes. Good visibility your arm is not in the way of the mirror … and does not vibrate while riding. Don’t get a cheap mirror, there are a lot of crappy mirrors on the market, this is a well made quality mirror that could save your life

    Awesome item.

This is one slick product. Easy to install and compact. It takes less than 5 minutes. I bought one for my e-bike and my scooter and they are almost essential for after vehicle riding. I remember this product from the 70’s and how I had one back then. I highly recommend it and I think they are made in Colorado. They are also made very durable. The one and only mirror for bikes in my opinion.

A great bicycle mirror….some assembly required

We now have this mirror on three of our bikes. That should tell you something. This mirror does require assembly before you can mount it to the bike. It arrives totally in pieces (see second photo). The instructions warn that tightening the two larger screws can be difficult as the screws are hard to turn, and the instructions are correct. I found it easier to grab a pair of pliers and grip the end of the mirror while I was using the supplied allen key to turn the screws. Note I protected the plastic finish by using a cloth between the pliers and the mirror. If you don’t use something like pliers, it will be very hard to keep hold of the mirror while you turn the screws. The instructions are also correct in that the screws will “squeal” while screwing them in. Ignore their squeals of pain and just keep screwing – it gets easier to screw as you get close to the end. Don’t tighten too tight at this stage since you will need some movement to adjust the mirror once you have installed it on the bike. WIth that caveat, assembly is quick, but be sure to follow the instruction photos about where to place the 6 supplied washers. Also be careful to fully insert the allen key into the screw head because if you don’t get it fully inserted, it may round out the screw head (this is also covered by the instructions.Installation onto the bike is easy. They provide two mountings blocks for different size handlebars – my bike used the smaller one.Once installed, adjust the mirror to your desired field of view and then tighten the two big screws a little just to ensure the mirror stays in place. In use, it does what a mirror is supposed to do – it provides great rearward visibility. Unlike other mirrors that are mounted inboard of the hand grips on the handlebars, these bar end mirrors provide an unobstructed rear view behind the bike. The view is so good, I feel you only need one mirror on the bike (on the left side).Overall, I feel this is very good value for money and the functionality of the mirror is great. You will not be disappointed if you purchase this mirror.

You can see the mirror on the left. Not to big, just right.

I bought this mirror because I live in the country where semi’s can go by on a County Road. So, this mirror keeps me aware of my surroundings so I don’t get scared and fall off my electric bike. It’s easy to install. You can adjust while your riding if needed. Mine goes on my left side but some people want one in each side. It’s a safety issue and everyone should have one. It’s the perfect size for the bike and good quality. I felt the price was good too.
