Bright, radar works well, battery life is as rated
Just to be clear, the radar functionality on this light is only for making the light flash to make yourself more visible to approaching traffic. It doesn’t talk to a bike computer or watch like more expensive radar lights do. This is as expected, but could be laid out more clearly in the description. Now that’s out of the way, I have little to complain about with this light. It’s very bright, combining two LEDs with lenses and a more diffuse U-shape around the radar, which wraps around slightly to the sides. The combination makes it very visible, regardless of mode. I especially like the ‘eco flash’ setting, as its two dim flashes and one bright flash in a repeating sequence provide a very good balance of power usage and light output.I found it to be very effective at detecting approaching vehicles, and even cyclists and pedestrians, going into a rapid strobe at max brightness for a few seconds. Detection angle is pretty narrow, though.Battery life is very good. I found it slightly exceeded the 3.5hr rating at max brightness with the radar turned off, before going into Eco Flash mode. Testing the battery, by charging the light from that state through a power meter, showed it slightly exceeded the 700mAh rating, a very good thing. The USB-C port has the correct 5.1k pulldown resistors, and will charge from a USB-C power supply, even with an e-marked cable.Controls are extremely simple. One button shows battery status when pressed, turns the light on when held, and cycles through lighting modes when the light is on. It remembers which mode you were last in when you turn it on again, which is very much appreciated. A second button enables or disables the radar functionality, with a blue indicator light.Unfortunately, this will not talk with my existing Magicshine headlights and remotes, as they’re older pre-FTR models. That’s a bit of a bummer. Peloton sync did work perfectly with another Magicshine light, though (Seemee 50 v2), the two flashing together when nearby and in the same mode, with no further involvement required. Both included mounting brackets (seat rail and elastomer band) are easy to attach to the bike, and made from very sturdy plastics. The saddle mount only requires an eighth turn to lock the light in; smart thinking as the rails would block it from turning further. While they look exactly like a Garmin-compatible mount, they’re actually about 5/8 of the size and incompatible. Another bummer, as a variety of mounts are available using that standard and many other Magicshine products use it. At the very least, Magicshine uses the smaller version across most of their taillight models, and have a few other brackets available. Unfortunately, there are none for mounting to a rear cargo rack.I’m overall pretty impressed. It’s very visible taillight with good battery life, and gets you basic radar functionality at a good price. My only real gripe is the weird shrunken Garmin-like mount, instead of just using a properly Garmin quarter-turn compatible mount like Magicshine’s headlights. That may not be a concern if you only have one bike or don’t have special mounting requirements. Still, it’s worth considering, and I’m really being a stickler to complain about that.

Not a replacement for the expensive radar sensors
This will not connect to a bike computer — The radar detector, I guess, just makes the light flash. The description doesn’t clearly say this which is why I’m giving 2 Stars.I’ve had good luck with Magicshine lights and as a light this is a good one. The companion app reports battery percent which is nice. Note: The companion app does not report radar events. If you’re looking for a radar alert then you’ll need a more expensive option.

Handy and small.
Very handy. Maybe slighty too bright at bright.

Great tail light. Easily seen . Radar works just the way advertised. Batteries are lasting. Well worth the cost. Bike in storage. No photo.

Inexpensive safety upgrade
Flashes rapidly when it senses cars approaching from behind. Cars seem to notice based on passing behavior. Battery is good for a 3 hour ride with radar on. No connectivity to cell phone or other cyclocomputer gadgets, but that is ok for the price. Bike mount well designed.

Bright Light
I purchased the Hori1300 light and was incredibly happy with it. It has the ftr remote, which is a nice addition. I was looking for a rear light and found this one. I assumed the quality would be equal to the Hori1300. However, when I opened the box, 2 little rubber pieces came out with everything else. They were covers for the buttons on each side. They just fall off and do not stick. I read some reviews and saw someone else report the issue and they said that they were told to use some tape or to glue them back in place. I did that and it worked out perfectly.I have a message to support and they have been awesome!***update after several rides **** This light is pretty decent. It seems really bright and when paired with the ftr remote it works great. I used Elmers glue stick for the buttons and I’ve had no more problems. Support was supper responsive and has helped me with all of my issues. Nice bright setup.
