    Very light, seems well-made

I ride “bike patrol” for large bicycle events in Arizona, and on a typical large event with 5,000 or more riders I’ll help with 6-10 riders with flat tires. A frame or collapsible pump just takes too long to pump up (and is fatiguing after flat fix #8 or so), and CO2 cartridges are finicky and aren’t cheap (and can inadvertently detonate a tire). This pump only weighs a bit over 2 pounds (I verified), and although a bit large for on-bike use it does pump most road tires to 100+ psi in seconds. The chuck seals around both Schrader and Presta valves without difficulty (a problem with many other pumps that allegedly handle both). Rather happy with the purchase for this specific need.

    Very hard to use

Can’t use it. Too hard to pump.

    Gauge seems to be inaccurate.

I’m pretty disappointed with this pump because of its inaccurate tire gauge. It starts out about 20 pounds less pressure and finishes about 6 to 10 pounds more. If I want 60 psi I pump to 50 psi and it’s usually 58 to 63. I’d give it an average rating on air intake per pump. I should have bought something else.

Works well for high volume or high pressure tires

I have street bikes with higher pressure tires and a mountain bike with high volume tires and this pump works for each type.

    Collar easily detaches

Be warned, the screws that hold the collar together come off easily. After several months of routine use at home. It would be one thing to simply fix it myself with better screws or some other repair, but once the collar is off, it is impossible to get back into position. Disappointed, as I’ve had good luck with Crank Bros hand pumps and the Sterling seemed sturdy enough to last more than a few months. It has not.
