    Budget Cages That Bend as Easily as My Willpower at a Donut Shop

    I got these because my new cargo bike has an ungodly number of bottle braze-ons, and I wanted to fill them out so my kids and I could have water without breaking the bank. These definitely do the job, and if you’re on a budget or just need a couple extra cages, they’re perfectly serviceable.That said, they’re not the sturdiest. The aluminum is thin and bends pretty easily — I’ve already tweaked one just getting on and off the bike. They bend back without much fuss, but I’m not sure how well they’ll hold up over time, especially in a busy, kid-filled, urban riding setup.For me, the cost savings don’t quite outweigh the trade-offs. The sturdier name-brand cages I usually buy are more expensive, but not wildly so, and they feel like a better long-term investment.
