Small profile, with preferred high pitch sound.
First explain why it is 4, not 5 stars rating: The bell is just as shown in the product page, just a bell, without any accessories such as rubber band and it does not need to, as the fixed inner ring, holding the handlebar is small in diameter, there is no need for rubber band to further reduce diameter. If your bicycle handlebar is bigger in diameter, you are out of luck, the product may still able to install on thinnest part handlebar if it is of variable diameter.But if it can fit your handlebar (which is the case for 3 of my 5 bikes), it is a 5-star. First the installation will be super simple, snap on and tightening the screw. the sound is crisp high pitch sound (check the video) to alert people, important for road safety . I especially like its small profile to make the handlebar less busy.

Nice bell. Good quality, look and sound.
This is a nice little bell. I have another bell with a similar design on a different bike but that one was much more expensive. This one is a good value at $9. I like having a bell to alert people when I am coming up behind them on bike paths and trails. This keeps people from being startled or from swerving in front of you at the last minute because they didn’t know you were there. This bell mounted easily and securely to my handlebars. It looks good and doesn’t take up a lot of space on the bars. It has a sleek, modern look that blends in nicely on the bars. It has a nice sounding ring to it and you can vary the loudness by how hard you pull back on the ringer. This is nice if you want to just give a light ring to get someone’s attention in a quieter setting or need to give a louder ring in noisy environments, from farther away, or to be heard by pedestrians through earbuds. Bells are simple and effective safety accessories for getting people’s attention without shouting at them. I love the gentle but attention getting sound of this bike bell.

not “ensure” alert
I was able to fit this bell on my medium sized handle bar cheapo mountain bikr. It had fine ease of installation, I could stretch the gap so it fit over the bars, and the gap closed after the bar had gone through.The loudness is where it lost a star. I have a battery powered rechargeable horn, and thought this item would be good backup if the battery dies (since I don’t use a horn every month) This bell does sound, but it is noticeably softer than my battery horn. I use this bell first, and if they don’t turn around I say “passing on your left” my battery horn always gets them to turn around.It is a budget horn, and value for money is fine for light duty use. It is aluminum design, so is sturdy as expected.If their marketing material said “get their attention on a quiet trail” it would get 5 stars. But they say it “ensures” attention, and if you are on a busy road, it does not do that.4 stars = lost 1 star because it is not as loud as they claim.

This value priced, low profile, minimal size design, bicycle bell is made of mostly plastic for the entire inner ring with only the top ringer piece, springs, screw, being made of metal. Initially, I thought I would have to take off my handlebar grip, shift, brake controller to get this on. Fortunately, I was able to install it in just a couple of minutes, just by removing the bell attachment screw, very minimally spreading open the plastic ring, just enough to slip it onto my handlebar, adjusting for useabillity, replacing and tightening the very short attachment screw. The sound of the bell is a low volume, high pitch ting that has a long resonation. It is just enough to draw attention if riding on a pedestrian/bike trail but, not obnoxiously loud, similar to a bell sound used for meditation. I don’t think the bell sound would be very noticeable on a busy street.

Review of the Premium Bike Bell for Urban Commuting by Amzcycle for $8.99This bike bell has a beautiful, minimalist design, with a pleasing ring. Unfortunately, I cannot mount it properly on any of our bikes.The outer dimensions of the bell are 1 1/2 inches in height x 2 1/4 inches in length (at the ringer part) x 5/8 inches wide. The handlebar ring is 7/8 inch in diameter. The ringer part and the bell part (the upper outer ring) have springs. The only size indicated in the listing is 2 1/2 inches in diameter, but that is incorrect. The material used in construction is of high quality, and the bell feels solid and well put together. The screw holding the handlebar ring is 3/8 inch long.On three of the four bikes we have, the handlebars are too big around. While I was able to place the bell around the handlebars on one of the bikes, the screw was woefully short. Replacing the provided screw with one much longer, the screw angle was such that I could not make it grip. On the fourth bike, the bell fit fine on the handlebar, but only towards the middle of the bar, a location that is awkward for a bell, which should be reachable from where one holds the bar. Moving the bell closer to the left end, I could not place the bell in a way that avoided contact with the gearshift or the brake handle. It was either too thick (extended too far out) or too wide.The only image in the description that shows the bell in place shows it far enough away from the handle that one would have to let go of the handlebars to use the bell. In the event that one had a handlebar that was small enough in diameter to accommodate the bell, that is where it would have to be placed. Not ideal!

Doesn’t take up much space on the handlebar
I really think every bike should have a bell on it unless it is used for racing. Walkers are often sharing the trail/sidewalk with bikes, and it is nice to the walkers to warn them you are coming. Walkers often thank me for warning them. This bell does the job just great. My favorite part of this bell is how compact it is – it doesn’t take much space on the handlebar of the bike. Here are some more thoughts:* I found the install easy and straightforward. I was surprised it didn’t come with some sort of spacer to accommodate smaller diameter handlebars. I feel lucky I didn’t need one.* It is similar in sound to another bell I have which takes up more space.* I think the edges of the trigger are a little harsh on my thumb. I’m hoping it will get smoother over time.Overall, this is my favorite bell of the 3 that I have because of the small amount of space it takes on the bar.

Small, compact and loud bike bell
Small, compact and well built bike bell. It has a very unique design that takes up very little space on the bar. I found it easy to install on my mountain bike. I was able to slide the bell much closer to the handle bar grip and as a result, it’s much easier to reach with my thumb. It also puts out a nice loud ring sound that carries quite well without being annoying.
