Lightweight platform pedals with excellent bearings and molded plastic grip surfaces

Amazon invited me to review these as part of the Vine program. Plastic pedals with great bearings. Why? For one reason, they are lighter in weight. Also, if/when they hit you in the back of the shins, it doesn’t hurt as much. Platform pedals were recommended to me by my physical therapist to avoid the muscle tightness my high volume biking was giving me using clip-in pedals. They are also big platforms and work with most shoes, which makes them attractive to both novices and more experienced bikers who want a quick release. These are an excellent example of the genre. The surface includes 9 molded plastic pins on each side as well as some surface texture. The sealed bearings move freely but not excessively and while they are removable, I would view these pedals as place and forget for most users. If you’re planning to service your pedal bearings, you are probably in the market for a higher end product. For most of us, these are just fine, thank you. The weight is listed as 299g per pair.

    Good, no wrench flats

I think this is an original design, which is nice to see from brands I haven’t heard of. Comparable to a Raceface Ride but without the big bump over the spindle, which always felt a little weird under foot. So that’s nice. The packaging and documentation is confidence inspiring. Well constructed, big pins for stability, bearings feel good. Just a little bit of play but that’s normal for the plastic bushings the diagram shows on the crank side.I took a star off because these don’t have pedal wrench flats, just the hex key on the spindle. So if that bit strips, you could have a really bad time trying to replace. I’ll update as these get some more use if they crumble into dust, or hold up particularly well. At $20 though, there’s not a lot to complain about.

    Good, visible replacement pedals

This is a nice set of replacement pedals for your bike. The bright yellow color allows you to be just that more visible to other bikers or vehicles. Even though they’re made of plastic, it seems to be a tough enough material to be lasting and contributes to the light weight nature of the pedals, every ounce counts when you’re making a strenuous climb. Most bikes use a standardized fitting so these pedals should be compatible with most bikes, just be sure to screw in the opposing pedals the correct direction since the right and left side pedals are screwed in in opposite directions. The only thing I wish these pedals had were screw hole attachment points if you wanted to attach toe cages for road bikes just to give you additional options.

Solid, Lightweight, and Perfect for a Re-Learner

I picked these up for my wife’s mountain bike—she’s re-learning how to ride, and we’ve been cruising the hills in our neighborhood together. The pedals hit that sweet spot: lightweight but still substantial, with a grippy surface that really locks your shoes in place. The bright color pops against her bike frame and makes them feel a little more fun than your standard black set.Installation was simple, and once on, she had zero trouble keeping her feet planted, even on the uphill pushes. They feel stable and secure without being bulky. For the price, these are an excellent upgrade—great for anyone who wants reliable pedals in a fun color option without spending a fortune.

    Great quality budget flat pedals

I’ve been riding with these lightweight nylon MTB flat pedals for a few weeks now, and I have to say, they’ve really impressed me. First off, the weight is a game-changer. You barely notice they’re there, which is a huge plus when you’re tackling those steep climbs or trying to keep your speed up on the flats.Installation was a breeze; they fit perfectly on my bike without any fuss. Once I hit the trails, the grip was immediately noticeable. The surface texture provides just enough traction, so I don’t find myself slipping off mid-ride, even when I’m navigating rocky terrain. That confidence when your feet stay planted is something every mountain biker craves. One thing I really liked about these pedals is their durability. I was a bit skeptical about nylon construction at first, thinking they might wear out quickly or be prone to breaking, but so far, they’ve held up well against some tough rides. I’ve taken them through mud, dust, and even a few accidental bumps, and they’re still going strong. As for aesthetics, they have a nice low-profile look that blends well with my bike without being overly flashy. Overall, if you’re looking for a good pair of flat pedals that won’t weigh you down but still offer reliability and grip, I’d definitely recommend giving these a shot. They’ve added a refreshing boost to my riding experience without breaking the bank.🌟 1 Star: I do not recommend this product at all, it has serious flaws and needs to be refined before I can recommend purchasing it🌟🌟 2 Stars: This product may have some major flaws, but there is still some good things about it. Very sturdy, large platform, grippy pedals – Great value

Initially, I wasn’t too sure about using plastic pedals on my bike. The bright yellow color won me over. 😀 But very soon, I was a convert and here are the reasons why.- These ZERAY pedals are very light (duh… they are plastic)- The bearings are very good and spin smoothly with very little resistance.- The platform size is large (I wear size 13.5 shoes and I really appreciate this) and makes for a much easier transfer of power from the legs to the pedals.- The molded plastic pins on each surface helps in really gripping the shoes. There is no way that your shoes will slip off the pedals.- Very easy to install. Just make sure that you turn the left and right pedals in the correct direction.- Left pedal, you turn clockwise to remove, turn counter-clockwise to tighten.- Right pedal, you turn counter-clockwise to remove, turn clockwise to tighten.I use these on my gravel bike but have no reason to doubt why they would not work as well on any other kind of bikes – mountain, commuter, touring, road (of course, these hare not clip in pedals. So, road bicyclists might not use them as much). 2 to 3 weeks after I put these on my bike, I rode on a ~430 miles ride across the entire state of Iowa. Had no issues with them at all. They felt so much better than my previous pedals because of the larger size and the grippy pins/studs on them that kept my feet from moving around on these flat pedals. The only drawback I feel is that these do not have any relectors on them and no means to attach them at all. But the bright yellow color kind of compensates for that. The color will work in the daylight, but at night I still wish that these had a reflectors attached to them. All in all, excellent, lightweight, large, grippy, low maintenance pedals. Would recommend them 100% of the time.

    I’m VERY pleased!

I am still impressed with how good of a deal the pedals are. Perfect fit out of the box without any install issues whatsoever (use a 8mm hex wrench). REALLY a good thing for me, as I am replacing some heavy alloy pedals I’ve had on for years. THEY were given to me, but had a smaller shaft diameter, so I had to get adaptors for them. As you can see in the pictures, that made the pedals stick almost an inch further out! These pedals are nice and close to the crank arm now where I want it. They have a slightly larger platform, but are SO MUCH LIGHTER. Really like the bright color too; life is too short to be boring. If I was to find any fault with them, it would be that there is no reflectors, nor a place to put them. I realize that many people don’t want or need any, but for those times when I DO end up on roads with traffic after dark, they really make a difference. Oh well. Perhaps I can find a stick on type…I have had no issues with the pedals bending or breaking, despite their light weight. I have even given them some really hard hits.Yes. I recommend these pedals. I think they are a great deal, even if only to have a spare set on hand.(I only review items that I really, ACTUALLY use. NEVER just opening the box and looking at it. Hope it’s helpful!)

Excellent Grip, Large Platform, and Smooth Spinning – Top Value Flat Pedals

I’ve struggled to find flat pedals with enough grip to feel confident, but these ZERAY pedals have the best grip I’ve found so far. The spiral pins really lock in my shoes, and I felt comfortable trying tricks right away. The platform size is also a big plus—they’re quite large and give my feet plenty of support, making them more comfortable on long rides and for riders with bigger feet.Another standout feature is how easily these pedals spin. The sealed bearings allow them to rotate very smoothly and freely, so there’s no resistance or roughness at all. This makes pedaling feel effortless and also helps when repositioning your feet on the fly.I especially appreciated how lightweight these pedals are—they keep my bike feeling agile but still feel sturdy when I push hard, especially going uphill. Installation was simple using an 8mm Allen wrench, and I had them on my bike in minutes. The yellow color looks great and adds some flair, but be aware that it does show marks from shoes and trail debris almost immediately. If you want your pedals looking pristine, that’s something to consider.Overall, I think these are excellent value for the money. If you want secure grip, a comfortable and roomy pedal, smooth performance, and light weight for your mountain, BMX, gravel, or road bike, I highly recommend these.
