Great lock, wish the opening was a bit bigger though
This lock comes with an attachment to the bike frame which makes it easy for transporting around. It is strong too, making me feel better about where I lock my bike. I do wish the opening was a bit bigger for my needs, but overall the lock does work well.

This is an actual review from an actual purchaser of the product. At the time of this writing, all the reviews were from people that either received the product for free (26 reviewers) or were not marked by Amazon as actual purchases (5 reviews).If you are looking for an inexpensive lock to secure an inexpensive item, I do not want to dissuade you from considering this lock. I have kept my purchase. Someone put quite a bit of work into the making of this lock, and more expensive locks can be defeated anyway. The questions are: how much do you want to pay for the higher protection level of a more expensive lock, since nearly all locks are mainly just time deterrents, and what is that time differential. Often, just having a lock is enough of a deterent.If you need to secure an expensive item, however, you may want to know the following:1. The 15.00mm measured bar thickness shown in one of the advertised images is actually between 13.50 and 13.70mm on the lock I received. That measurement includes the coating thickness of approximately 1.835mm x 2.2. Unlike many U-locks, the base that caps the U-bar hinges at the end opposite the key lock and remains attached. When the U-lock is fully open, a portion of that base rotates into the U-bar’s 3.9 inch opening [3.8 at the top], causing the actual usable opening to be around 3.3 inches. If you are hoping to use this lock for a 4 inch tire, like I was before I received the product, look elsewhere.3. The hinge I mentioned above appears to be a pin and is actually slightly visible. I’m unable to measure its thickness without destroying the lock, but it appears to be just a few millimeters of material at best, maybe around 2 to 3 — nowhere near the thickness of the U-bar. That tiny little pin is what secures the U-bar to the base on the end opposite the key hole. It is not secured by the full thickness of the U-bar seen elsewhere.4. The end of the base opposite the lock, where the hinge resides, is always wide open.The security level of this U-lock is lower due to #3 and #4, but I’ve given it 3 stars overall, as the lock is still a deterrent.

I love it! First of all the locking bar is hinged and doesn’t come off, so you never lose it and it’s easier to lock and unlock. The key slides smoothly into the lock. The length is perfect. It has a rubber coating so won’t scratch the paint if you lock it to the frame while you’re riding like I do. Also it’s lighter than the typical ulock.

I like how the key unlocks the mechanism smoothly, and most importantly, it is easy to unlock even when I am in a rush.
