Complete V-Brake Replacement Kit at a Great Value for Future Bike Maintenance
I picked up this complete V-brake kit mainly to keep on hand for future maintenance on my bike. A few years ago I converted a mountain bike into an e-bike, and I ride it every day. It has already saved me a tremendous amount of gas money, but after hundreds and hundreds of miles, the brakes are clearly getting close to the point where they will need replacement.I have not installed this kit yet, so I cannot comment directly on braking performance or long-term durability. However, what I really like is that the package includes everything needed for a full brake replacement. The set comes with two pairs of V-brakes, brake levers, front and rear brake cables, fixing screws, and even a multi-tool and wrench set. Having the complete package ready makes it convenient when the time comes to do the job.The cable lengths (about 29 inches for the front and nearly 69 inches for the rear) should work for most standard setups, and the cables are protected with PU tubing, which should help durability. The brake arms are made from aluminum alloy with rubber and plastic components, designed to be resistant to corrosion, heat, and deformation.I already have the tools I need for bike work, so the included multi-tool and wrenches are not essential for me, but they are a nice addition for anyone who may not have a bike tool kit yet.Another positive is the price, especially when using the available coupon. For a kit that includes brakes, levers, cables, and tools, it represents a good value.For now I’m giving it five stars based on completeness, price, and overall concept. Once my current brakes finally wear out and I install this set, I’ll have a better idea of its long-term performance—but as a ready-to-go replacement kit, it looks like a very practical purchase.

This brake set appears to be a very good choice for a very budget friendly V-brake option. The initial quality of the levers and brake cables appears to be good and the brake arms and pads appear to be adequate. The arms themselves, while appearing sturdy enough, have a slightly less than blemish free finish, but that will not affect their function in any manner. While I have yet to mount these on the intended bicycle, the generic looking brake pads themselves are ones I have used in the past and seem to be more than effective at stopping while possibly sacrificing some of their service life. This set includes everything needed to replace or upgrade the braking system of your average bicycle, and even includes the tools required to complete the job. If you have the proper tools in your possession, I would suggest using those first. If you are someone who does not have the proper tools, you will be pleased to know that you will have all of the tools needed to complete the job and even a nice folding tool set to keep in a bicycle bag for roadside emergencies included with these brakes. All in all, these are a nice set for somebody looking stay within a budget.

One of 4 arms was defective.
The bushing in the brake that seats over bike-frame post was out of round preventing the brake arm from moving freely on the piston pivot. Only one of the (4) arms provided in this kit had this problem so I recycled my old arm using the pad from the new defective arm. It works, but I’m not happy with the mismatched appearance.

this gets a decent rating and recommendation particularly because of the price and subsequent value of everything that comes in this kit. I refurbish a lot of bikes for people and it’s nice that the kit comes with everything to completely replace the vbrakes on a bike. The levers are entirely metal and not plastic bodies and metal blades like what many department store bikes come with so it could potentially be an upgrade from what you currently have. The brake arms are pretty good too. A couple of gripes is that the the included cable housing is extremely cheap and has non-removable ferrule ends, so if your bike has cable stops, which most do, you will have a hard time making the cable and housing work. I opted to use different housing but use everything else in the kit including the inner cable and noodles. The brake pads make a fair amount of noise while riding even after sanding, degreasing, and decontaminating the rim surfaces. But again can’t complain too much because of the price. The quality is pretty good, too; it came in some lame plastic baggie packaging with no branding, but everything was free of any blemishes or defects.
