Nice design for a dual road/regular shoe pedal
So far these are nice pedals. They are composite so it remains to be seen how they hold up but the double sided design is elegant without being too bulky for a road pedal.The bearings spin nicely and the cleats seem like standard SPD-SL. I checked out the tension adjustment and they seem about what the same as the other inexpensive SPD-SL road pedals that I have.Obviously pedaling these in normal shoes isn’t that fun so it’s more for practicality than any serious pedaling. I definitely wouldn’t want to be doing a peloton workout and find myself slipping off etc

Great Upgrade for a Spin Bike
I bought these to replace the stock pedals on my spin bike, and they’ve been a solid upgrade. Installation was straightforward, and the left/right markings made it easy to get them on correctly.Clipping in and out works smoothly with no issues, and once clipped in, they feel secure with a firm hold. That stability makes a noticeable difference during longer workouts where you really want consistent power transfer without worrying about your feet shifting.They appear well designed and made and look great on the bike. The dual-sided design is also convenient if you ever want to hop on with regular shoes. Overall, these feel well made and perform better than the factory pedals they replaced. Definitely a worthwhile swap for indoor cycling.

Better Suited for Cleats Than Flats
If you are looking for a pedal at a good price point that works with your SPD-SL cleats as well as street shoes this may be for you. But the flat side for street shoes does not have a very big surface area compared to standard cage pedals. It is well suited for short runs to the store or the park but not for long rides.The sealed bearings turn smoothly. No play at all, yet not too hard to turn. The crank threads are well cut and fit into the crank arms smoothly.The cleats snap in reassuringly, and the adjustable tension release works well. Finish is smooth and consistent. These are not high end pedals but they do the job. Cleats and allen wrenches are included.

I ordered these pedals for my hubby (a road cyclist for over 50 years now) based on the description listing “Shimano”; these pedals are not official Shimano but are described as being compatible with their cycling shoes. After a few long rides, hubby describes the pedals as:- easy to install — on his Sidi cycling shoes.- He was impressed that the vendor even provided all the hex keys for installation and adjustment for pedals and cleats (commenting that the name brand pedals don’t supply such tools).- Bottom side of pedals are flat, allowing for pedaling without cleated shoes.- Easy entry and release.- Lightest retention setting provides solid cleat / pedal connection, minimizing unwanted release.Overall, performs well at a far lower cost than the name brand. Time will tell how long the pedals will last.

Great basic choice!
Easy to install on the bike and simple to use with the cleats. Just takes some getting used to! Great price for good quality pedals that are low profile. I am not an avid cyclist but I do enjoy riding and found that using the cleats improved my ride efficiency immensely!

Good spare pedals and cleats – but do use covers if you walk on them
The Thinvik Dual Sided Clipless Pedals for SPD-SL is a good idea. I can’t tell you how many times I just want to ride the bike a short distance without putting on cleats and trying to ride the SPD side of the pedals on regular shoes. These are great since you just flip the pedals over and you are set! I would put these on all my road bikes IF they had higher quality. I don’t know, I just don’t think they are as sturdy as Shimano pedals. Sure, it has a fiberglass/nylon body for weight and sealed, self-lubricating bearings for smoothness, but how will they stand up to the repeated test of double centuries? I’m not confident enough to find out! That being said, I do keep these with my kit, in case I, or a fellow rider, had a problem with pedals/cleats, or has to ride on flats that day. Oh, speaking of cleats, I would carry cleat covers with these all the time because the plastic is much harder and slippery to walk on compared to stock cleats.

Great pedals if you’re in the market for an SPD-SL + Flats combo
If you’re in the market for dual-sided mixed platform pedals, these are a good option. The SPD-SL mechanism is familiar to anyone who has used Shimano road pedals before, and these work all the same. The bearings are smooth, and there is no play in them, which is excellent. You even get a set of cleats which is a nice touch, everything you need is included, just provide your own 3-bolt shoe.One of the major downsides of the Shimano SPD-SL system is that the cleat is just preposterously huge. While that’s not an issue most of the time — because you’re riding the bike, so who cares how big the cleat is — when you need to walk around, it can be a bit of an annoyance having such a big cleat on your shoe. Because of this, casual rides, like taking your kid to the park, where you don’t want to wear SPD-SLs, usually involve having to remove your clip pedals and put on some flats, which is a hassle. That’s where these come in.On one side, you have serious road bike SPD-SL pedals, and on the other side, casual flat pedals. Best of both worlds… somewhat. But it has compromises, which is why I’m always on the fence about the usefulness of dual-sided pedals that mix a cleat on one side with a flat on the other side. There’s no denying these are nicely designed and pull off that style of pedal perfectly. The flat part of the pedal works great when you want to rock traditional shoes, and the clip mechanism is reliable for when you want to clip in.The downside of these is always that the side you want will never be the side that’s face up when you’re putting your foot on the pedal, leading to having to think about pedal orientation every time you put your feet on and off the pedals.While that’s an inherent flaw of this design, it’s not the fault of the pedal; all dual-sided mixed platform pedals are like that. And if you’re buying these anyway, you’re likely well aware of this and accept the tradeoff. So in that respect, these are great and work exactly like you’d expect.

Good pedal clip package
I am looking to replace the cage pedals on my spin bike to clip type and these work great for what I need.The clips mount to the shoe easily and pretty securely. It locks in the pedal fairly easily as well and stays in place. It take a very firm forward tilt and lift to disengage and it shouldn’t happen accidentally.The pedals are composite but have some decent weight to them. The non-clip side can be used with regular show as well but the surface is fairly small so I am not sure how comfortable it would be.
