A+++ a portable bead jack that’s a must have for your saddle bag

This is exactly what you’re looking for if you want a koolstop bead jack that’s sized on-the-go for roadside tire service! As we know, a beadjack is a godsend for your thumbs for that final push to get a tire fully mounted on a rim. The koolstop version is the iconic version but it is a full-size tool that is meant for a toolbox and not a saddle bag. Talon’s beadjack is just that by being fully collapsible into a compact package. The Talon beadjack is well designed with beefy physical backstops for sturdy leverage when in extended position. *Be sure* to fully tighten down the pivot screw so it does not collapse upon itself when applying torque while jacking a bead over a rim!I can personally vouch that this beadjack is up to the task- it passed my test of mounting a new GP5000 S TR on carbon rim without lubrication with flying colors; one the most notoriously hard tires to mount.

Be prepared for, at least, cosmetic rim damage

Brand new ZIPP rims: logo is torn through in five places. Is it wayyy better than just plastic levers? SO much better. I now have a means of eliminating the Rubik’s cube of getting the tire back on my hookless rims out on the road; it avoids tube misalignment/damage (I’m not running tubeless); it avoids unrecoverable tire malformation from tire lever strong arming.Should it warn you to NOT USE IT on parts of one’s rim where there are stock logo appliques? DEFINITELY.

Way easier than tire levers, esp with difficult tire / rim combos. Small enuff for roadside

Way easier than tire levers, esp with difficult tire / rim combos. Small enuff for roadside, if your under-the-saddle bag is long enough. This piece of gear is small enough to take on every ride. I hate changing tires, and this makes it easy. It almost cannot fail, and is easy. -A weakness is that you sometimes really have to make sure the two legs do not go out side to side – it is not as strong as a pair of metal pliers. It comes as 3 pieces joined by hinge. Middle piece is just a tire lever. Unscrew hinge, remove this, and then you have the 2 scissor legs, joined by hinge.

This works well on my road bike tires and fits in my saddle bag

This is a cool little gadget that, when disassembled, fits into the bag under my saddle. It works well on road bike tires (mine are 32mm) but my 2.5″ mountain bike tires are too big for this tool. It works quite well for its intended purpose.

    Very nice!!

Nice tire tool that I have had to use multiple times installing new tires. Definitely a tool for the tubeless rider that fit in your tool bag on the bike.

Might work for some bike tires?

I went to change the front tires on my catrike and the tool would bend, and flop over before getting the bead over the wheel. I wound up using a screwdriver to install the tire, no worries.

A step up from the old tire levers.

These take a little practice, but once you figure ‘em out, you’ll never go back to the old tire levers.
