    Game‑Changer for Shimano/SRAM Cassette Maintenance

I recently picked up the TB‑FW42 tool kit and it turned a dreaded cassette swap into a five‑minute job. The combo of cassette-locking pliers and lock-ring wrench made the entire process smooth and secure.Pros:Cassette‑gripping pliers: These pliers lock the cassette in place, eliminating the need for a traditional chain whip and protecting your knuckles and frame edges. This mirrors what Feedback Sports offers—auto‑adjusting to fit 10–26 T sprockets with a comfortable, ratcheting gripPrecision lock‑ring tool: The included Shimano‑HG-compatible wrench clicks into place firmly and withstands torque like professional-grade tools from Park and UniorOne-hand operation: The pliers feature a locking mechanism that frees up your other hand to operate the wrench—no wrestling with an extra tool.Solid build quality: The steel pliers and hardened lock‑ring tool feel rugged, and ergonomic grips make for a confident, controlled removal or install.Cons:This will take some practice if this is your first time. You may want to practice on a different bike than your main one before you give this tool a try.Bulkier than chain whips: The pliers are more substantial than a lightweight chain whip, but I appreciate the added safety and leverage.Overall this is a really good tool.

Like pliers to grip your gears on your cassette.

I got into bikes a few years ago to the point I’ve built a few custom bikes and such. I’m not a fan of the cassette tool with the piece of chain. You can lose grip of that chain and hurt something or break/scratch something on the bike. These are more like a pair of pliers. you can use to grip your gears instead. In my opinion they’re easier and work better than the other tool with the longer piece of chain.

    Good quality and works great

I used this tool a few days ago to swap out some cassettes on wheels I was prepping for CX season and have to say I’m pretty impressed with it. The jaws don’t seem to open as large as the Feedback Sports version, but they fit over the cogs fine and held solidly during removal. They make the job a lot quicker than wrapping a chain whip around the cog and holding it in place while using the lockring tool.I have not used the included lockring tool, but it looks like it will work fine. One minor irritation with this is that it does not have a socket attachment and must be used with a wrench. That’s not a dealbreaker, but I prefer lockring tools that can just be popped onto a torque wrench for tightening.

Easier to use than a chain whip

Works perfectly with my Shimano cassettes. The clamping mechanism makes it far easier to use than a standard chain whip. Fits perfectly on the cog. Heavy duty materials and I can see it lasting forever. Great value for both tools at the price.

Might have been a returned item

Tools worked super easy… Looked as though the spline had been used since the cable tie that affixed it to the the cardboard carrier was cut!

    It works perfectly

I have had a couple cassette removal tools, NONE, have worked like this one, SO EASY and does not tear the teeth up as it aligns perfectly! Wow, wish I had this tool years ago! K&K

    Works great

Don’t know why I had not switched from old school chain whip to this sooner! This is smaller and easier to use. Works on anything from 8 to 13 speed without issues.

    Well made tool

Full disclosure, I have yet to actually remove the cassette on my bike with this tool, but I have given it a bit of a test to get an idea of how well it will do the job. The tool itself feels solid and well made. Easy to hold and long enough to get some good torque. It certainly holds the cassette securely. I put some serious torque on it and there was no slipping at all. So, I expect that it will work well and do the job nicely. Price seems reasonable for something that’s a bit of a specialty tool too.Recommended.
