Nice basket, except the quick release mechanism.
Okay, so the basket is aesthetically nice. I love the size and look. However, the quick release mechanism is extremely flimsy. The reason I bought this basket is because I was looking for a “quick-release basket”, so that feature looked promising to me…well, the securing clips on the side are too lose. In two days I had two incidents: 1) I swung my leg over to mount my bike and I barely bumped the basket and it fell off (luckily the velcro that comes with it, prevents it from hitting the ground). 2) I was riding on a street with some cracks and small bumps/pot holes (small), and the vibration alone made the basket fall off (again, thank goodness for the velcro). If you like the basket and want to permanently attach it to the rack, that’s fine, go to the hardware store and buy some kind of brackets, but if you want a quick-release basket, look somewhere else.If you already have this basket, get a long Velcro and attach it at the quick release handles to secure them against the rack and they don’t spring open with bumps or vibration. DO NOT PUT YOUR PETS IN THIS BASKET UNLESS THE BASKET IS PERMANENTLY SECURED!!! IF YOU DO AFTER READING MY REVIEW, IT WOULD BE ANIMAL CRUELTY. Otherwise, your pet will drop and might get run over by a car behind…or just get injured by the fall.REVIEW UPDATE ! ! ! ! !Okay, so I purchased some Velcro straps that I can use to secure the rack successfully and relatively quick. Now I love the basket, but at first, I was exasperated. SUNLITE SHOULD INCLUDE THE STRAPS TO ENSURE A HIGHER RATING.* See video I uploaded.

Easy and quick to attach and also fits my dog!
I bought a fold-able bike for the marina and it came with a bike rack, but I needed a basket that would be nuts and bolts free that could also fit my 13 lb dog…Very impressed and met both needs. I was able to take it right from the box and secure it on my bike rack. Very sturdy and secure. I cruised around with my 13 lb dog in it and he fit great, even had a little excess around him for his leash, bike lock, and blanket.

Ample Room in this Basket!!
Love this basket! The mounting system is fantastic. There is no shifting. Stays in place nicely, once you put it on correctly! Haahaa. I put it on with the spring arms underneath my rack and it wiggled all over the place. Realized that can’t be the right way. I looked closer at the spring arms and they had a curve in them, so I understood then that they attached onto the bar!! DAH! This is a fantastic basket! It will hold a backpack easily or two even! Thank you SUNLITE! I have had this for a short period of time so far, so I do not know how long this will hold up in rainy weather. I do not intend to ride my bike in the rain, so we will see over time, how it does!

This works for standard bike racks. Needs to be modified for a moped/larger rack.
I had to swap in shorter springs to make this fit on my Puch Moped. But it works! Very nicely made.

Rear basket
Mounts very easy to back of bike on its rack. Capacity is large enough to hold a lot of things. Handles to carry and use as a hand held basket.

Basket does the job carrying my kids’ backpacks a short distance to school on flat ground, and the handles fold inward to (somewhat) secure items inside. It mounts easily to the rear rack but doesn’t stay on too tightly – I’ve never had the basket fall off while riding, but all it takes is a gentle bump while dismounting for the spring to pop off. I would not recommend for any long, fast, or bumpy rides.I’ll keep the basket because 90% of its intended use is slow gentle rides, but it’s a shame it does not secure more tightly as I would love an easily removable but secure solution.

Good quality, carries small dogs with added security.
This is a very good quality basket and with some added safety features you can carry your little dogs safely in this. You MUST attach it more securely though. The basket feels pretty secure on it’s own and I would happily trust it to carry any non-living thing safely. But, when it comes to my two pooches, I wanted to ensure the basket would not dump them if they made any sudden movements. I used velcro straps to secure all sides of the basket to the rack and now I know it is not going anywhere. I also added some straps to attach their harnesses to the basket and a small cushion so toenails won’t get caught in the mesh bottom. My two little dogs (9 lbs and 11 lbs) love riding in their basket now!

A well made basket, not right for my bike.
It’s really secure on the rack, and didn’t move even when I hit it with my leg mounting the bike. It took a good deal of strength to get the clamps open enough to get it on the bars of the rack, really strong springs! It holds a lot, but I can’t get it to go back far enough. It kept trying to push me off my seat. Really nice looking, but not practical for me.
