Great, durable shifters for the price!
I used these brifters to convert an old Cannondale hybrid into a drop bar gravel eater. Installation was straightforward and they shift well. I did add inline barrel adjusters since the shifter body is not threaded. This made tuning the derailleurs much easier. They feel solid and click into each gear firmly. The lever throw is a bit on the long side as compared to shimano. I personally prefer having upshift and downshift levers on the same side of the control so these are exactly what I was looking for. The right shifter will only move through 2 gears with 1 swipe of the lever. As noted elsewhere, it can be difficult to get them tight enough to eliminate the chance of them rotating in use. When I rewrap the bars I may add a little bit of grip tape begind the shifter so it stays put better. The shifters have performed well so far and all that remains is to see how well they hold up. Good choice for a budget build.Follow up: I have been using these for over 2 years without issue. I even clipped a low hanging branch while the bike was on my roof rack which knocked the shifter out of alignment and trashed the bar tape but they continue to work just fine. Excellent value.

MicroNew or Microshift?
Honestly, I can’t tell the difference. First impression, very nicely built. After installing onto a 420mm drop bar, it feels solid. The throw is a bit long, if you have long fingers, perfect! If not, like me, a little awkward. However, you’ll get used to it quickly. The rear shifts perfectly without a sweat. The front shifts a bit rough but manageable. Front small chain wheel to mid chain wheel, you will have to go through 2 clicks, then it’s on. And shifting to large chain wheel only requires 1 click. Shift from large chain wheel to the mid, sometimes, actually, often, the button will get stuck, and it will stay on large chain wheel. Only way to get out of it is to shift back to large chain wheel. For some reason it will drop to mid chain wheel. Other than that hitch, everything else is perfect.

Good value for money but get ready to mod and buy accessories to install
I am not really sure why there are such rave reviews for this product. I mean it is good value for the money but what you get isn’t really a complete package. Here are my reasons for why I think this is way over-rated:1. The product replaces separate gear shifters AND brake levers, but it only ships with two additional cables. If the bike its going to be installed on has prexisiting cables thats one thing, but if you are building/rebulding a bike, set aside additional budget to get additional cables. I just think its silly to provide only two cables when the product itself needs four to be fully operational.2. No cable sleeves! This absolutely silly. Why provide cables but no cable sleeves? Does the product maker/seller really expect the buyer to go and get additional $x (whatever the x maybe) worth of accessories to actually install and use the product? If so, what is the point of providing just two cables??3. This might just be a bike-specific problem but it really made me waste an hour or so trying to find a solution, but the metal clamp to stabilize the brifters on the handlebar weren’t really catching on and securing properly. Even at max tightness, they swing left and right, making them downright unusable. Basically, the clamps cannot be properly tightened because of the design. The tightning is performed by pulling down the rubber sleeve and using an allen key to turn the nut. But as you tighten the nut, the underscrew pushes the allen key out of the nut, limiting how much you can actually tighten it. Maybe it works fine for thicker handles, but for my road bike (which I think,is fairly standard) it ended up being a wobbly mess, all because of a terrible design flaw. My solution was to add some filler material to the metal clamp. It sort of stabilized but still turns a little left and right (especially since the shifter cables exit on the inner sides of the product and exert some pull when the cables are installed and tensioned). This was extremely disappointing.4. The travel needed to shift on the shift down lever is insane! The lever needs to be pushed a good 35 – 45 degrees off of the starting position to change the gear. Coming from grip shifters, this is pretty much garbage. I have tried higher end brifters and it was nowhere near this bad. So naturally it takes darn forever to shift down compared to grips shifters.Having said all of this, I do find this to be safer than separate brakes and shifters. Its all in one place and provides more a more seemless ride. While this is the reason why I am not ruturning the product, its not due the product itself but because of the nature of brifters. As to the quality and reliability of the product I will update the review after testing it for sometime (I only just installed it).

Good for the price
Fitted my old Dawes Galaxy OK. Two small points:1. The attachment bolt was difficult to engage with the Allen key.2. The front shifter often shifts from the big to small rings directly and misses out the middle ring (could just be my adjustment). It’s pretty good and has given the old bike a new life as a winter trainer.

Good performance, great price
I’ve had these on my do-it-all MTB conversion for a couple of years now, including my daily commute. Honestly, I was skeptical about the low price, and they’re clearly just a Microshift knock-off. At least for my purposes, they’ve performed great. These aren’t top-flight, but they’re solid and reliable at a fraction of the cost of anything else.Be aware that indexed triples are always a tough proposition. That’s not a fault of these shifters per se, but you need a proper road triple derailleur and can’t really “feather” the position on this indexed-only model.

best upgrade
i love these, my best upgrade so far. the grip is comfortable. they work very well and i have had no issues after a few months of use and one fall. the only issue i have is the shift lever, the throw is a little to long and i was hoping to be able to move it a few cm to shift rather than an inch. but very good quality and easy to install.

Cheap and Simple
Needed the cheapest, simplest integrated levers I could find and these work great. There are two paddles on each for shifting up and down, and the up-shifters have a little resistance so I can tell which gear I’m in (at least on the left, with only 3 gears). The brake cable comes out the bottom and can be wrapped under the bar tape, but the shifter cables come out the inner sides, which some people might not like the look of. Besides that, for the price they are exactly what I needed. They’ve worked great for almost a year now.

Excellent quality Shifter Brake levers
Replaced the stock grip shifts to these microNew STI combination shifter brake levers. Really nice feel to the indexed shifting. The brakes have excellent stopping power. There is not any cable adjustment and will need to purchase inline adjusters additionally. These fit my Trek IsoZone drop bars well.

Working great so far.
So far these have worked well.I don’t like that the piece that holds the shifter cable is made of plastic so we’ll see how long it lasts.I wish the bolt to tighten these to the bars was longer, it was kind of a pain getting them on without the bolt getting unthreaded.Other than that I think these are a really good value. The rear shifter is nice and snappy with a good tactile click & it’s nice that the front shifter has two “clicks” per gear so you can trim it a bit if you get that annoying chain rub on the front derailleur. These will be my go-to as long as they hold up.(Edit, almost 6 month review.) – Still holding up very well. I’m heading out on a tour for 3,000+ miles, so we’ll see if these hold up. I’m going to be bringing a pair of bar end shifters in case they fail.

Works good but need the right brake cables
These worked great on an old MTB to Gravel bike conversion with a shimano 3 x 7 shifter. You will get the gear cables but not the Brake cables in the package. So make sure you order Road bike shifter cables the end is different than a mountain bike brake cable. You will need to wrap some tape around your bars to secure them tight enough, or they will move around on you. Overall a great bargain to keep an old bike from being thrown out.
