    High intensity, deadly dull

If you are looking for the combination of serious spinning and creative, high quality audio/visual this is not for you. This is of the “this is serious training and shouldn’t be fun” school. Well sorry, I can suffer and smile at the same time. Specifically, there was little or no attention placed on choosing music that was 1) good and 2) beat coordinated to the sets. It is, however, a serious plain vanilla interval workout-although short at 45 minutes. It is shot with some of the guy’s students set up on trainers at a homely lakeside setting while he walks around in highschool football coach garb incessantly instructing while holding a stopwatch.Anyone with extensive spinning experience could get pretty much the same thing by choreographing their own workout, turning on the radio and using a stopwatch. There is a reason why music is carefully coordinated into this type of workout: it makes work feel like dance. This is more like a Calvinst sermon than a night at the club.

    good workout

My first spinervals workout DVD was No slackers allowed. I am used to spin class and also riding on trails/road so I thought the intensity might not be that great. I was pleasantly surprized. Coach Troy is extremely motivational, and I like the variety of people in the video as well. I am tired at the end of the video and my HR gets up pretty close to max. This has got me very interested in other videos in the series.

    Great Workout DVD

This is the first Spinerval Competition DVD I’ve done, so it took a bit to get used to the 1 minute rests between sets…but the workout was great. I initially thought 45 minutes ( the exact time of the video, including warm up and cooldown) was too short, but by the time I got through I was tired. I’ve done all of the non-competition DVD’s and they were getting old and a bit too easy…so this was a great change and a good, albeit short workout. The DVD quality was OK with just two very very short pause/skips…may have been my DVD player rather than the way the DVD was recorded. 5 Stars.Just an additional follow up and more info after I went through the DVD a second time. The workout is exactly 44 minutes in length. Also, it seems like Coach Troy doesn’t give as many queues about intensity levels for riders of stationary spinners as he does in the workout (non-competition) DVD’s…so it’s harder to know what intensity to spin at on an indoor spinner. But other than that still outstanding

    Great Workout

This is the first DVD Workout video I have purchased. I was hesitant at first. After hitting play, the dvd explains everything satisfactorily. And then you get into the workout. And it is an excellent workout. If you only have time for a 45 min bike work out this is it.

    Great Workout!!!

This workout can be as tough or easy as you make it. If you want a tough workout though do exactly what the rest of the class on the video is doing and you will burn lots of calories, or at least feel like it! Im still looking for a good spin DVD that is for cycle bikes not road bikes in stationary lifts as are in the spinervals DVDs I have purchased so far. Its hard to know how much resistance I should put on my cycle during specific sets. I have tailored it to my own idea of what I want to be at, but it would be nice to find a spin DVD that is actual cycle bikes.

    Disappointed and poor condition

CD scratched and skips. Was wanting spinning class for specific to a regular spinning bike, not for a gear/cog wheel type class. Disappointed

    Five Stars

Great workout that is challenging yet not exhausting

6 minute cool down so ends up being maybe 35 minutes not …

Meant for people who are used to riding street/road/mtn bikes, not stationary bikes. Coach Troy doesn’t give enough instruction i.e. conversion to indoor spin bike….just talks about big/small rings and numbers associated with those gears/sprokets. Also a bit short…spends too much time introducing everyone. 6 minute cool down so ends up being maybe 35 minutes not 45.
