Not always 180mm
So in the land of I.S./I.S. mounted adapters, I’ve found that things aren’t always as they seem.For instance, there are some IS mount calipers that are set to default at 140mm rotor size. I purchased such a brake.It was a shimano XTR M975, and for the rear, it attached without an adapter, at 140 rotor size.So, having a 160mm rotor as only a real mountain biker would have for the rear, I bought this 180mm adapter, and it magically fit.This adapter should not be called a 180mm adapter, for that reason. Rather, it should be called appropriately, a 20mm increase.So, 140mm caliper, this adapter will give you 20mm to 160mm rotor. 160mm caliper, will fit 180mm rotor.

Turns out it was exactly as described but I didn’t completely understand what I was ordering and it was the wrong size. It appeared to be in fine working order while packaging and shipping was not an issue .

There is not much to say about this item, it is the correct item for extending your INTERNATIONAL STANDARD / INTERNATIONAL STAND disc brake REAR MOUNT. It is not for post mount… beware of description and picture being a little misleading. I am attaching the correct picture, this is the item you will get and it just works as it is supposed. Original Shimano parts quality, you cant go wrong with that.
