Smooth as butter. I upgraded from Clarks to this polymer-coated cable. It is awesome! FYI, I also upgraded to DA 9000 housing with this cable.

Images don’t match delivered product.
This product’s images are slightly misleading. The product I got from Earthfair (fulfilled by Amazon) was only the cable. It was not boxed, nor were the two guide pieces or end cap provided. I can’t even be positive that it’s an actual Shimano cable because it’s just in a clear bag. It does feel like it’s coated, at least.

The cable shipped by itself in a plastic bag without the shimano package or any of the accessories shown in the pictures. Cable seems to be working fine but was expecting to receive exactly what was advertised.

Only the cable came and it was in a small plastic bag (see photo) with no Shimano box, literature, guides or end. Since other reviewer had same issue I can only assume that this is not an official Shimano product. I sent email to shown seller to allow them to correct problem and will update review if they deliver product as represented on Amazon.Cable feels smooth and appears to be coated.
