    Compatible with Shimano M7000 & 8000.

    While looking at this item, I saw that 1) Shimano is adamant that 10 speed and 11 speed generations of SLX/XT etc were not compatible with each other. I read reviews though of people using rd-m8000 read derailleurs to clear their 1×10 systems’ larger cassettes. So looking at the Shimano published compatibility, Shimano details that its Deore 5100/5120 series can be either 10 or 11 speed, when using shimano’s parts of the group set. So there are a lot of questions whether this 11 speed derailleur is backwards compatible with M7000 and 8000 shifters. Here’s your answer – yes.

    What most MTB riders need

    Solid unit. Absolute workhorse. Most MTB rider will not need more. Really reliable, consistent, and easy to maintain. If you’re looking for the best of the best, this is not that. If you want a functional derailleur that works and want to spend time on the trail and not the shop; this would be a solid option.

    Never disappointed with Shimano

    Deore is the entry level for high quality Shimano drivetrain. Im not a professional biker, I dont do downhill races, but I do like to push myself and my hardtail to the limits. This derailler can easily handle it. It is built strong and the materials are durable, I highly recommend.
