Installation is easy IF you have the correct tools and you’re handy. E-MTB burn through cassettes because of the high torque level of the motor. You shouldn’t need a chain ring each year, but I bet you’ll need a cassette each year. You’ll know if your bike has “ghost skipping” but the derailleur is working fine. This model is one of the most durable because of material, but also less expensive than lighter drive train components. I’m not saying weight doesn’t matter, BUT, with an E bike, do care about a few ounces? If so, keep scrolling. BUY A NEW CHAIN when you replace a cassette. You’re welcome

I pulled the xt cassette to throw this bulletproof all steel cassette on. I didn’t need the weight saving as I’m primarily on the lowest gears tech climbing. It works great with an xt derailleur and I’ve put over 3k miles on, it still looks brand new after degrease.

Smooth Shifting!
First cassette lasted 2000 mi… At about 1800, things started getting wonky; miss shifts, skipping gears and getting very noisy…Got this new one and IMMEDIATE change! 🙂 Instant on ALL shifts and completely silent again 🙂 Worth every penny 😉 I ride a lot, so, I go thru 2 MINIMUM per year 🙂 Great value for an OEM part 🙂 UPDATE: 1300 mi in; still shifting like a champ!!

Solid 12 Speed Cassette Option
Picked up this cassette on the cheap as my SLX was worn. It was easy to install and not much heavier than the SLX cassette it was replacing. Since it’s all steel, it should last a long time.Shifts were much better after installing this and a new chain. After getting it all setup, I can hear the difference. Smoother and faster shifting with no missed shifts.
