This is Flat mount not the standard IS or Post Mount
The fact that the caliper is Flat Mount should be stated in the description. Before today I never knew this mounting type existed and I’m sure a lot of other people could/will buy these without knowing. Save yourselves the hassle of dealing with returns and update the description. Also the only adapter I can find costs $40-50 and limits you to a 160mm rotor so I will be returning this item.I have no opinion one the brakes themselves since I cant use them. I removed two stars for the poor description.

Package arrived wrapped in a large sheet of brown paper. components were disconnected and the handlebar had a shim intended to prevent unintended application during shipment, which is needed because it still had oil in it. This was obviously taken off from a bike or taken off somehow, because these are usually available in retail Shimano packaging pre-bled for the same price, and including an extra barb and olive. Luckily the length was perfect for me and it will probably be for most people since the front lever / brake are all similar in length on most bikes (the rear is not though)It worked fine for me, but in retrospect, I could have spent a couple of dollars less for the actual retail packaged part on a bike shop or online auction site instead.Finally, the pads were contaminated with oil and I had to clean them, I happen to have very good degreasing products on hand so it was easy for me. It might not be for the typical buyer.

Great construction 51mm mount for kids bikes
These are very nice but at 51mm mount spacing will only fit kids bikes, but NOT mtb/enduro/bmx. Check measurements first, unlike myself. The product labeling could be more clear.

Perfect Flat mount / Flat bar brake on a budget
So this is the 3rd attempt at a brake to fit the rigid fork setup on my hardtail. I normally run suspension up front, but I wanted to have a rigid fork for winter months. The flat mount standard threw me off guard. Had no idea it existed prior to getting the flat mount fork. Over the past month, I have bought 3 adapters, 2 sets of brake pads, 3 rotors, and 3 (including this one) sets of calipers. Mind you, I didn’t want XTR / Dura Ace. I wanted normal hydraulic stopping lower, modulation, and lever feel for a flat bar bike, with a flat mount caliper on a budget. For $45, this is EXACTLY that. I will keep the caliper and lever on the road fork, and put the shiny squishy stuff back on come summer.Side note: this was delivered in new Shimano packaging including olive and barb, as well as instructions.

After 5+ years, it was time to replace my worn out calipers and levers. Although this is a pre-bled kit, that really didn’t help me as the hydraulic lines are both too long. Good product overall though.
