    Very good and solid shifter. This replaced. An older version,

    This shifts well and was easy to install. The only thing is this shifter’s display is below the handlebars, not above them like the original and it is different than the left side shifter.

    Easy shifter replacement!

    This 9-speed shifter was purchased to replace a broken Deore shifter on a mountain bike that I am fixing up for a grandson. It was easy to install and works great. Very few adjustments were needed to get it shifting smoothly through the 9 gears. I would buy this shifter again.

    Good Inexpensive Shimano 9 Speed Shifter.

    I decided to convert my touring bike from road bars to swept back upright bars. This involved not only new handlebars but new brake levers and gear shift levers as well. The Shimano Alivio 9 speed shifter fit perfectly on my new 22.2 diameter handlebars. After installing the brake cable and housing that came with the shifter it was easy to adjust the cable at the rear derailleur and now I have perfect gear shifts. I am very satisfied with the Alivio shifter.

    TREK FX3(2019)にピッタリでした

    2019年に購入したクロスバイクTREK FX3には元々シマノのACERAというシフターがついていました。駐輪場でぶつけられたのかシフト位置を示すプラスチック部分が破損したいたこともありケーブルのみだけでなくシフターごと交換。ALIVIOに辿り着きました。交換も簡単にできました。また、シフトの表示部はACERAがハンドルバーの上についているのに対しALIVIOは横長でハンドルバーの手前についています。これにより駐輪場でのぶつかりによる破損が避けられるのではないかと感じています。人差し指部分のあたりも改善しているようでした。総じて大変満足した買い物ができました。

    Nice upgrade

    I bought a pair of these (left & right) to replace the old Shimano twist shifters on my gravel bike which were turning my hands black because of the deteriorating rubber. The work like a champ and were easy to install. I was a bit concerned about them clearing the brake levers but that was no problem. They take up less space on the handlebars so I had to replace the bar tape but that was already part of the planned replacement project.

    Good replacement for Shimano SL-R440 or any 9-speed shifter.

    I used it to replace old Shimano SL-R440 on a flat bar road bike, 2006 Fuji Absolute 1.0, since all the research said the shifting ratio for 9-speed cassette is the same for road bike and MTB. The official replacement is Shimano Sora SL-R3000 but it cost about $50. I’m glad this works and saves me some money. BTW, there is minor difference between this and R-series shifter: its gear indicator is below bar and the latter is above.
