    These replacement pads work great. No more squeak

    I bought these to replace the Hayes IH2 brake pads on an Iron Horse mountain bike I purchased 10+ years ago. I could not find the replacement pads online and contacted Hayes support. They replied to say the pads are the same as the MX2 model, replacement part number 98-28142. These replacement pads work great. No more squeak! Replacement was a bit tricky. Needed to remove the side tension magnet and watch a video on amazon for tips.

    Not really impressed. In fact they suck.

    Not totally sure how to evaluate them yet, because I have never used other disc brake pads. These do work, but already squeal loudly after only a few uses. So for now I’m not sure I dislike them or this is just how disc brake pads are.Update after 1 year:These pads suck. From day up to now they have squealed like pigs, despite multiple cleanings of everything. They don’t stop me great either, in fact they more like slide me to super loud squeaking stop. I’m so sick of them that I’m just going to throw them away.

    These brake pads are made of material that can be held in place by the magnets in the Hayes MX4 disc brakes. As far as being more quiet than the originals; they are, but they also have a softer, gummier feel when leading into a brake than the original ones do.

    After properly bedding in the pads and rotors, these pads stopped me as well as the originals. Great price! What more can you ask for…
