Great scooter lock
Works great. Take a couple of times to figure out how to use it effectively.

Sticky combination and tricky for small hands
Purchased two for my children and proven to be too difficult to lock and unlock for their small hands. I’ve purchased multiple rock bros accessories in the past and this is the first my family was not satisfied with.

Easy Install, looks neat & does not rattle
Lock works great. Easy install and long enough to go thru wheels and around pole. Storage is very neat looking. I have it lower as I have a bag/water flask holder on the top.

Sturdy and clever mounting system
When I recently picked up a new scooter I didn’t really know what I was going to do for a lock. There really isn’t a convenient place to stash a lock like on a bicycle.I saw this lock and thought that was a fairly clever way to store the lock so I ordered it.The kit comes with a heavy duty coiled cable, significant in weight so I believe it would be super hard to cut quickly, and a combination U lock which is very thick. What I liked best is how it mounts on the scooter. The mounting bracket has two treaded straps that wrap around the neck of the scooter and slip into a tread locking screw housing that lets you turn the set screw to pull the straps tighter around the neck. It also comes with an inner stubby rubber liner that wraps around the neck and gives the the two cinch straps added grip. The stubby surface locks into the treads as well so once you tighten this down it will not slide. The cool part is the lock and latch design. The base of the lock has a receiver clip that pushes into the mounting bracket. You release the lock by pressing in on the clip. The coiled cable is threaded thru the lock so the lock now functions as mounting bracket for the cable (see the pictures if this wasn’t clear.) You need to make sure you orient the U lock correctly, it only fits into the combination base in one direction, the feet of the U are different. The design nicely handles the coiled cable where one of the end loops is further back by connecting one loop in the back and one in the front.Setting the combination was easy, you just need a screwdriver to slide the combination reset pin out so you can freely change the numbers and then push the slide pin back in place.Great solution and I really like not having to remember a key!

This Is The First Rockbros Product I Don’t Love
I have been universally happy with all of the various Rockbros products I have purchased or reviewed to this point, and this is the first of their products which I don’t love.First, due to the trim piece on the scooter where I was going to mount this lock, the mount does not fit. Too short to clamp around the larger diameter.Second, and more applicable, this lock set is pretty fiddly for its intended purpose. Characteristics which make me think that this is NOT the best way to attach your lock to your e-scoot.The rubber sleeve over the U of the lock was too long, and it moved as you used it. It would get in the way of the lock being able to close completely. I had to cut off about 1″ for the u-lock to work consistently. Also the body of the u-lock is covered in plastic/rubber material, which makes it more difficult to access and turn the combination dials. So a bit of a fiddly PITA, where you will spend a lot of time when using this lock. Instructions are truly minimal. Make sure that you push the ‘RESET’ button all the way out with a screwdriver or pen tip or the changes you make to the combo won’t be saved. This is an admirable idea, and it may work for some (many?). It is a system where the minimal space is utilized to lock the unit to the scooter steering stem until needed – so it can’t be stolen and will be there when you need to use it. If it fits your scooter and you are O.K. with how it works. Not truly high security, but enough security to keep honest folks honest. In my mind a stem mounted small E-scooter bag to hold your lock (and a few other things) is a better solution for my needs. Of course that bag and its contents could become a theft target – all depends on where you live I guess.

Another great Rockbros product- easy to set, easy to use, always with your scooter
We have several Rockbros products on our e-bikes that are outstanding, this is no exception. We used it on our grandsons scooter, and it worked great. The mount is a really nice feature, as there really isn’t a handy way to carry a lock on the scooter. The mount has a rubber insert to protect the paint on the scooter, you just trim down to the diameter you need and clamp it on. The mount has what amounts to twin screw clamps to hold it in place. The lock simply snaps in place, and a quick push on the tab releases it. The screw clamp tails can be trimmed off if you like. The code on the lock was simple to set- with the correct code set, simply push the reset button, set your new code ( the year they were born is easy to remember), and push the reset button back in place. The numbers can be a little stiff to rotate at first, but should smooth out over time. Luckily our grandson is very mechanically inclined, and took breaking it in as a challenge. While this is specifically designed for scooters, I see no reason it wouldn’t work for an e-bike, as long as you have a place to mount it. If you’re looking for a lock to Just carry in a back pack, this isn’t it, it’s too bulky. But if you have a good place to mount it, it’s a great way not to leave your lock behind.

A solid bike lock that will work for a variety of bike sizes and shapes
Not a bad scooter or bike lock at all!Rockbros continues to be an innovator for new designs, and this is one that I particularly enjoy. For context, while I have a scooter, I was most interested to see if this would fit and work with my Urtopia Carbon Classic. Yes, yes it did.If there are negative elements to this design, these are they: The locking side of the U has to be on the thicker side of the latch, but it’s not always easy to see which side of the U is which. Also, it’s a bit tough to move the numbers on the dial, which makes me feel a bit uneasy (if I can’t move it, then my bike is just as locked with me as without). I’m confident that the dial will continue to move, but that’s an area of needed focus.A neutral point is that all of the instructions for this were printed on a piece of cardboard, and in multiple languages. I mean, it’s not that complicated, but that’s not normally where I’d look for advice. On the good side, this lock is versatile and strong. This is the best bike lock I’ve ever tried, and that’s saying something. It has a very natural curl memory, so it goes back into a loop when you are done. The fastening/holder was a little clumsy, but that’s really just to hold the lock while you pedal. The lock and chain itself are solid.I was impressed with this – it lets you pick the thickest part of your bike or scooter to hold on to, and the wire doesn’t need to be manually recoiled to get back into shape. A fantastic lock.

Good for low security risk use only.
I ordered this scooter lock to use while I am out riding my scooter and want to go into a convenience or grocery store for something to drink or a snack. It seemed like a pretty coolly designed lock that would suit my needs. When it arrived, I found that the combination part of the lock is not easy to turn and kind of sticks when trying to open the lock, so it is not easy to use. I also found out that the part that the combination lock is in is just simply plastic, and that means that it is a very weak point and definitely not a high security lock but a lock to be used in very low risk areas because a rock, screwdriver, or something else could be used to break or pry it open.It is a lightweight lock and fits both of my scooters, and I think it should work on most common size electric scooters. The mounting system is something I haven’t seen before and seems like a great design. The lock itself just needs to be improved and have the plastic casing of the combination lock replaced with some kind of metal, and then its security level would be much higher and harder to defeat.Overall, the quality of this lock is good with the exception of the plastic mentioned above. I do question its durability because of that plastic, as plastic wears, cracks, and can deform from use and shaking around while being attached to a scooter while riding. As for the value for your money of this lock, it is good if you are only needing a low security lock and don’t mind dealing with the combination number wheels not being easy to deal with.
