Being the organizer and leader of a social bicycle club here in Fort lauderdale with over 1400 members at present well-being and safety are always a major concern. It is addressed before each and every slow roll. All efforts are made to keep everyone healthy. The next major concern is keeping everyone’s mounts safe and secure. All efforts are made to protect all our wheels from damage or theft. Here is where we address the Revere USA folding bike lock with a set of two keys included. Now, we have all seen these types of locks before. I have in the past passed on this type of lock for no particular reason other than already having chain locks. This has given me the chance to see what’s up with it. The first thing I noted was the very heavy weight in my hand. Talk about heft! Now I am not so into my craft that I keep every accessory weighed and worried over. I don’t care about some extra ounces. This thing is heavy. But in this case weight equals worth. The heft has everything to do with strength this time. It also includes a very nice holster that can be attached to a water bottle mount on the bike if you like. Overall it’s very attractive. This particular lock has a larger circumference than many, some more room. The only negative is the fact that this type of lock has only linear movement. It cannot be wrapped around anything. It doesn’t have chain like flexibility but it will last forever. As long as a thief doesn’t know to cheat the keylock you should be “safe”. But Boy, you’re going to carry that weight, carry that weight a long time…And as always remember:Ride Safe, Ride Strong, Ride Happy!!

Some of these folding locks are a 100 bucks. I compared them and I can’t see the reason for the price difference. This lock does the job, and Ive got 80 bucks in my pocket.

A good lock whose long working length is useful to fully securing a maching to lamposts.
Good lock, but quickly developed key sticking with daily commuting use. Had to give it a good dose of locksmith oil (recommend Houdini brand used by professional locksmiths) to cure the key sticking. Like all bikes locks, bike and scooter thieves can easily defeat them with hand held battery powered construction grinders. But it is still a good lock that I successfully rely on to lock my e-scooter and bike up during daily errands. It extends to a about a full 30 inches. That working length comes in handy to fully surround and secure key parts when locking my machines to steel fences and lamp posts.

You owe yourself a better lock
If you seek a lock that creates the appearance you have locked your bike securely, this is the lock. If you seek a lock for your favorite bike, you need to conduct more research. I own folding locks made by 4 different companies and this lock is the least impressive. When I test folding locks, I begin by adhering a strong magnet to the cylinder. This is the first lock I have tested where I can knock the magnet off the cylinder by jostling the lock. The magnet sticks so unconvincingly to the folding bars I wonder if they are made of low-grade stainless steel. The rivets hold the bars so loosely I can spread the lock, as one of my photos shows. And the product ships in a plastic blister package that is sharp and brittle. Do I recommend the lock? If you have a serious locking task, I do not. Why do I not rate it lower? Because it serves its basic locking function.
