These are just too cool
Do you remember when you were a kid and you would clip a trading card onto your bike so the spokes would make the bike sound motorized – as you dreamed of that first motorcycle? If you were really adventurous, you would partially inflate a balloon and tie it onto the front wheel yoke and for as long as it would last, and that’s not very long, you really did sound like a Harley on your bike – at least in my imagination.Well, these little gadgets are not going to make you sound like a Harley, but they absolutely will make you stand out. They clip onto the spokes – they are adjustable and screw down over the spoke – and when you are riding you look like a carnival ride – I mean you will really stand out – very, very cool as the wheels whirl and create this beautiful colorful vision.It’s not quite as dramatic in the early evening, but in the dark, absolutely the only people who could miss you shouldn’t be driving anyway – you are lit up like – well like a carnival ride – and it looks fantastic. And I’m an adult. I wish I was 12 again so I could enjoy them even more – but then again my mom would have made me come in at dark, so maybe it is a grownup’s toy. Get these things and have some fun. I got these for my son’s bike. I always worry about him riding his bike in our area since cars often go too fast. These are flashy and definitely catch distracted drivers attention. He thinks they are fun and cool, but it gives me peace of mind as well. The battery life seems to be good since we haven’t needed to re-charge yet. I also really like that they are rechargeable, so no need to find or buy batteries for them.

Use zip ties as extra support
By the by, get some small black zip ties and put one each thru the slot that has the black screws, and wrap them around the spoke. This way if the screws loosen while riding, these expensive lights wont fall off the wheel. As per my title, I purchased quit a few of these neat safety bike spoke lights. Two ended up being duds, and after the warranty. This company made good on it and sent me 2 replacements. On a fixed income, every little bit helps! Thanks, I’ll be back!

Fun idea for a child’s bike, but nothing amazingThese are a fun little addition to a child’s bike. The lights attach to the wheel spokes and create different light patterns/images as the wheels turn, which looks quite effective, especially when it’s darker.They’re fairly easy to fit, although I did find that they can sometimes slip down the spokes rather than staying exactly where you put them. It’s not a huge problem though — a couple of small zip ties can easily help keep them securely in place.Other than that, I haven’t really got anything particularly negative to say about them, but equally they’re not something I was completely blown away by either. They do what they’re supposed to do and add a bit of fun and colour to the bike.Overall, a nice little present or stocking filler for a child who enjoys their bike. I’m happy with them, but for me they’re a solid three stars rather than something exceptional.
