An interesting cycling concept that can work.

I bought these as a cyclist. For years I have used a postage-stamp sized mirror on a stiff wire that attaches to the left stem of my sunglasses. As I have a road bike I’ve had to bend the wire to see over my own shoulder but reference it frequently. The only problem is that sometimes I whack it and must re-adjust.These glasses promised the possibility of no more adjustments. It does take a bit of getting used to as you are looking forward but everything to the right and left is racing backwards in the mirrored section – almost vertigo inducing! If you are riding an American style, upright bike where the torso is fairly vertical these might be quite effective. I ride a road bike, however, where the bike geometry is such that I am looking down at about 45 degrees. In this situation the glasses are reflecting upwards in the rear forcing me to try and see over my own shoulder. Down in the “drops” you simply cannot see parallel behind you at all. With hands on the bar or up on the “horns” things are a bit better but still requires craning your neck to one side or the other. I will continue to try and use these but am thinking I might go back to my little mirror as it sees further behind without the need for contortions.

    Great for walking the dog!

I have a lot of problems with cyclist and joggers coming up behind me with my large dog and surprising us. My dog is reactive and will jump at them, so these glasses are extremely helpful in helping me see in my blind spots!!

Good for avoiding bikes on city trails.

I got these for when I walk on a city trail so I can see runners and bikes racing up from behind me. They sometimes come up so fast I’m caught off guard and don’t want to walk into them. They work well for seeing behind me and the style is good but are cheaply made and the color is an odd copper color. They come with a nice sturdy case.

    A+ Quality grade w Accessories!

Great quality! Amazon brought their A game! Not only are these shades weighted, I also received a nice case for them. Do I wish the reflectors were a little more stronger- yes- but they definitely do the trick if you’re just a regular, anxious and suspicious person like me. AYYY do whatever you gotta do to watch your back these days!

not rear-view sunglasses at all – more like SIDE view (if that)

These are not “rearview” sunglasses at all! They are only “side view” unfortunately. I couldn’t see behind me at all, only to both sides of me! Now I’ll have to return them as defective/not as advertised. Picture you’re wearing these sunglasses, looking straight ahead, and that would be the 12 o’clock position (like the hands of a clock). These here sunglasses only let you see to the left and to the right, without turning your head (so like 9-10 o’clock, and 2-3 o’clock position only). They advertise these as REAR view, which means you ought to be able to see in your REAR (behind you! like in the 6 o’clock position) without turning your head. But that wasn’t the case at all. Very disappointing!

Nice sunglasses with bonus see-behind vision.

Actual nice sunglasses with good see-behind vision. The outer edges are coated to reflect behind you. Great value for the money. A little extra time to not have to look at the back seat so much while driving.

Very helpful with side vision required when sculling, since you’re rowing facing the stern

I bought these so that I could have a rear-view on each side of me as I row my sculling rowboat, since you row “backwards” to where you’re going. You can turn your head a bit and scan in quite a lot on each side of you as your’re progressing forward. Naturally they seem to work better when there’s sunlight, that’s what sunglasses are “for”, and here in Texas that’s not too often a problem. Since I have to row half-blind back into my v-lift at my boat house and “thread” the needle and place the boat squarely upon the narrow hull guide rests on the lift, these really help line the boat up well, especially if there’s any chop requiring last second adjustments with the oars.
