Nicely put together but note the bottom
Before going further, please note that this is not a dual purpose pocket. It is made to hold cans and bottles ONLY. If that is your intention, the design is good. The adjustable strap for a bottom lets you accommodate different sizes of containers and avoids the yucky bottom you’d otherwise get from drips. Overall material and assembly is nice as one expects from PNW. But do not expect to use it as a miscellaneous stash pocket (My purpose and error)

Big Bag, Not Really a Bottle Holder
I initially picked this up thinking it might work as a simple cup or bottle holder for bike handlebars, especially on bikes without standard cage mounts. However, upon receiving it, it’s actually quite large – much bigger than needed for carrying a typical cycling sports bottle or standard water bottle.Because of the larger size and softer structure, a regular drink bottle felt pretty unstable and seemed like it would bounce around too much during a ride. If you specifically need to carry something larger, bulkier, and perhaps softer on your handlebars, this might fit the bill, but it didn’t quite work out for securely holding a typical drink bottle for me.

Great cupholder, love the adjustability and quality, but the price is a little steep.
This cup/bottle holder easily meets Portland Design Works usual high standard of quality. It feels very solid, with rugged fabrics and a good number of loops to feed velcro through.I grabbed this mostly for social rides, the type where you and your friends are cracking open a cold one. I love how you can adjust the height with a strap on the bottom. It’ll hold anything from a typical 12oz drink can, to a tall boy, to even a big 24oz Camelbak Podium bottle or insulated stainless steel water bottle or coffee cup. There’s a drawstring at the top to hold things in more securely, if needed.As mentioned, there’s a lot of loops sewn into the Swigamajig, and three velcro straps are provided. I was able to get it securely attached even to my commuter’s funky long stem. It stayed put and kept cans upright.It is a bit expensive for being a one-trick pony. There’s just a strap across the bottom, so the only thing you can put in is a can or bottle. No double duty to hold snacks, keys, or a phone. You also get no side pockets. On the flip-side, it does that one trick extremely well. Build quality is also excellent, with sturdier fabrics than you typically see from cheaper competitors. While I really like it, I’d probably recommend going for a cheaper solution UNLESS you absolutely need the adjustability to carry different sizes of beverage containers. Or, if you just want something really nice. I can’t fault it because of the quality, but being over double the price of other name-brand competition does sting a bit.

Both holders are surprisingly functional and quirky, offering unique mounting options to suit different needs. Here’s my take!**Key Features**Both Swig and Bob excel in holding an 18-oz bike water bottle securely, thanks to their adjustable bottom strap. They’re even versatile enough to fit my Contigo Tumbler, which is a bonus! Built from rugged, recycled plastic, they feel durable and eco-conscious—something I genuinely appreciate.**The Differences**- **Swig**: Designed for handlebar-stem-steer tube mounting, Swig installs easily using three Velcro straps. Once mounted, it stays stable with minimal swing. There’s a bit of bounce, but tightening the zip cord fixes that. It’s a straightforward, reliable option for carrying a bottle while maintaining easy access during rides.- **Bob**: Tailored for basket mounting, Bob takes things a step further by offering more versatility. It uses two backpack-style Velcro straps, meaning you can attach it not just to your bike basket but also to your belt, backpack strap, or other creative spots. Well Designed and Convenient; Perfect for casual touring
Well made Portland Design Works Swigamajig is constructed of sturdy pack/sail materials, with extra loops and long fasteners to adapt to many situations. I find it ideal for carrying a medium sized coffee thermos on a cool day, but should work equally well for keeping a water bottle in easy reach. Before this I had tried frame mounted bottles, but found them difficult to reach, and restrictive to the open frame design of my ebike. My compromise was to carry a water bottle in my rack pack and just stop to take a drink, but no more. With the Swigamajig my bottle is right up front and easily accessed. Designed by my neighbors to the south, and constructed overseas, by distant neighbors in Taiwan.It is clear that they considered the environmental impact of this bag, for there was minimal packaging, and a nice reusable keyring fastener was used to attach the tags. The thought and care that went into this was certainly noticeable and appreciated. Highly Recommended. I’ve attached a few close up pictures, as well as some to show I attached it to my handlebar stem. I chose the left side to avoid blocking my ebikes kiox display. The straps come pre-threaded for the right side, but I was relieved to see the straps could be moved to alternate mount points on the bag to allow flexibility and choice.
