Just what you imagined that you needed!
I haven’t used this tool yet, but the next time I have to change my brake pads I most certainly will. The first time I changed the brake pads on my ebike, I was pretty frustrated trying to press my caliper pistons back into the caliper housing. I would press one side and the opposite side would move back out, in the way. So, back and forth I went a couple of times and then I used a wide, flat blade screwdriver and gave a little twist and this worked. I was careful, I didn’t want to scare up the pistons. It was then that I had this idea for this very tool conjured up in my head. After looking on line for a bit, I found this tool. Never had a clue that it existed. But I can’t wait to use it. It’s a little bit pricey,(reason for four stars) but it will do the job fast and wont damage your brake system. Most bikes have disk brakes on them these days and specially if you have several bikes (older children). This will save you time and frustration.

Wow-great tool for a decent price!
This is a great tool to re-set your disc brake pistons. I have a SRAM G2 caliper for my front brake and was changing to new pads. I tried the screwdriver method and I could not get the pistons in enough to keep the wheel turning freely. I thought the screwdriver was not pushing them straight enough back in. I used this tool in two directions as the first try left the pistons on one side of the caliper sticking out a bit so I tried the tool from the other side and it pressed them flush. Put the pads and wheel back on and “voila!” Great braking back again.

Full marks–this made it super easy to retract my sticky SRAM calipers so that I could put new brake pads in. Much easier than trying to leverage them with a tire lever. Well worth the money.

This piston press tool made resetting my SRAM brake pistons quick and safe. It’s the right shape to press the pistons back evenly without scratching them or the pads, which used to be a fiddly job with makeshift tools. Solidly built and comfortable to use. A worthwhile little tool that makes brake pad changes much less frustrating. Recommended.
