No. Just no. These are not photochromic. I set them out in the sun to test them out and they act like they want to darken… only they’re kind of useless. It’s not dark enough to be in any way helpful. They fit well and are comfortable. But in no way are they worth the price.

I Still Don’t Understand These
I genuinely still don’t fully understand what situation these glasses are designed for.They seem somewhat polarized, but not dark enough to function like normal sunglasses. At the same time, they also aren’t quite clear enough to feel like regular everyday glasses. The product listing talks about cycling and sports use, but I think it could do a much better job explaining exactly when and where these are supposed to shine.To be fair, the actual construction quality seems reasonably good. They don’t feel cheap or flimsy, and the lenses themselves appear well made. The fit was also comfortable enough during testing.My confusion is really about the intended purpose and practical use case. Maybe experienced cyclists or outdoor sports users will immediately understand the benefit, but for me the listing created more questions than answers.

Transitioning glasses that work in any environment: inside, sun, shade, or night driving.
I have another pair of OpiKlevio sunglasses that I really like, so I wanted to try this pair as well.The glasses come protected in a sturdy green case nestled in a well-constructed and designed box that makes a great first impression. It shows they care about the quality of their eyewear. You also get a cleaning cloth and a sports strap.The lenses are unique in that they are amber in color but transition to a dark color based on lighting conditions, just like my prescription eyeglasses do. I wore the OptiKlevio glasses on a sunny day while mowing the lawn. They were comfortable and provided excellent protection from the sun’s rays. My eyes never felt strained.I tried to get photos of the different transition colors, but it was too difficult to do. The photo I uploaded of the glasses in the sun doesn’t do them justice for how dark they actually get.I wore them driving at night, and the amber-colored lenses helped quite a bit with the glare of oncoming LED headlights. They also helped protect my eyes from the ever-increasing number of LED street and parking lot lights that nearly blind me! The glasses also sharpened my night vision, making it easier to see without excessive eye fatigue.The straight temples on the frame fit surprisingly well. I expected the glasses to slip down my nose, but they didn’t. The included strap will hold them securely in place when needed.The glasses are expensive, and you do need to be careful with them. You need to avoid having them in high heat, so don’t leave them on your dashboard or car seat in hot weather. I actually ruined a pair of my prescription glasses years ago by leaving the glasses in the case on the seat of my car when it was extremely hot and sunny outside. When I put them on in the evening, everything was blurry. I learned the coating on the lenses was damaged. I never had an issue doing this with any other glasses, but it was my first pair that had the coating. So, beware where you place them. You also want to take care not to drop them so as not to scratch or ruin the coating. The glasses are waterproof and can be worn in wet environments.I am very happy with these transition lenses that give me the same benefit and protection that my prescription transition glasses do. When wearing my contact lenses, I can wear these glasses and walk from shade to sun to inside the house and back outside to sun again without having to remove them in less bright environments. If you spend a lot of time outdoors or go from inside to outside numerous times a day, plus have difficulty seeing while driving at night, then you’ll want to give these glasses a try.

I received these cycling glasses and man what a game changer, I’m saying goodbye to the riding with regular sun glasses, these self tinting eye protecting glasses are great, Boasting a Bionic compound eye AR coating (didn’t have a clue what that was until I looked it up) the glasses are my new go too not only riding day / night but fishing as well.these glasses will tint down fast as needed and lighten up just as fast to fit the needs.Great eye protection from sun / sand & other debris that can hit your face along with cutting the night time glare from in coming car headlights plus the insects attracted to the bike lights, the glasses allow you to protect your eyes but also cuts the glare of the water while fishing allowing you to maybe see them before they see you.Made by a company called OptiKlevio they go out of the way to protect the glasses during shipping but also help you maintain the glasses with a pullout drawer box / eyeglass case / cleaning cloth and adjustable head strap to keep them on your face snugly with comfort and ease.Along with the 99% blocking of blue & UV light the glasses have a stylish look to them so they can be used anywhere by anybody at anytime regardless of the purpose of use, these are made for the job.Glasses are made of plastic frames with resin lenses, They wont let you down at a very good price range you will be impressed with the looks feel and performance of these multi purpose eye protecting glasses.

Good quality frame, questionable optics
In short: photochromic effect is barely noticeable, glasses could be good for driving, but not at the price of premium eyewear.I liked that this product came with a case and sports retainer band. I also found frame manufacturing quality to be on par with good plastic sunglasses.Had the glasses came decent quality coating on the lenses and effective photochromic dimming, they would have been a very good product at $70.I took the glasses outside and they do not seem to be photochromic. I pointed them at the full sun and within a couple of minutes noticed no changes. What is noticeable is the “invisible” honeycomb pattern that looks like dust and has uneven edges. The “darker” glass on the last picture is just coating reflection that looks blue at a certain angle. Light transmittance seems the same — these glasses do not work as sunglasses.The glasses seem to be suitable for nighttime driving — slightly yellow tone does make it easier to see. However, the honeycomb does not seem to be able to reduce glare from headlights or bright street lights and overall it appears to be a marketing gimmick.
