IMHO UnGuard’s Bull Dog Mini line of ULocks is the best value on the market
I did extensive research on Ulocks for our local Bike Coop. The 3 desirable variables are inexpensive, strong, light weight. Generally you can only get two of those in any given lock. ONGuard Bulldog line is the lowest price & weight of any reliable brand name and is fairly good on strength as well. Not for overnight &/or high risk settings but is fine for daytime hours and low/medium risk evening use. Can’t be cut with bolt cutters and small enough that when locked thoughtfully it is almost impossible to get a car jack into it. In response to user reviews critical of the bracket, OnGuard did a complete redesign that is excellent; ease & variety of placement, lightweight, secure strong holding on the roughest roads. One shortcoming in the bulldog mini line is that it takes some practice to get the shackle inserted to the right depth to allow the key to turn to full engagement. Too far in, or not far enough, and key won’t turn. All around best value out there.

I have a shorter DT (Double Team) Bulldog with the cable.I also got this for quick stops at the grocery store.It come with a bunch of spare keys… I am happy.

Mounting bracket is terrible
The lock itself is awesome. It’s a great size (maybe slightly longer than necessary, but it makes locking pretty easy).The mounting bracket, on the other hand is really poor quality. The first one I got broke almost immediately. OnGuard kindly replaced it for me when I sent them a photo of the broken bracket. However, not long after that, the second one broke as well! Not to mention the brace on the lock itself that clips into the bracket broke, so it just spins when you try to clip the lock in.I would buy another of these if they could build a better mounting bracket!

Strong lock, but a thin layer of rust formed near the locking mechanism. Still functions very well, but doesn’t look the best.

Got on sale, so great price for a decent U-lock
Only opened and closed a few times, so would need to update to say how it fares with rust. Looks well made, but ironically giving 5 keys with it makes you wonder if they are all going to snap..TBC, but at the moment only positive things to say.

Great lock! I love the long shackle.
Good weight vs strength balance. I use it with a cargo bike and road bike. I love that the long shackle allows me to lock the wheel and the frame to a post or rack with no cable required. In my town this lock is enough of a deterrent to secure the bike for a few hours.

So far so good
Seemingly a good lock. Good price and sturdy. Easy to take the lock bar on and off, no sticking. I took one star off because, as you can see in the photo, the yellow ends of the lock bar are starting to discolour. The bike and lock have both received very light use and never been wet, so I’m not sure what could be causing it.
