Perfect light, fills the road with light and both sides of the road, flood and throw
Perfect for ebikes where its really important to see while going faster than a pedal, saves power since it has such great battery life on its ownInstalling this light was quick and easy since it clicks right into my Garmin style mount. Just keep in mind the mount is not included, so you will need to already have one or pick one up separately. Once installed on my lec XP4 it felt secure and the lightweight design did not add any noticeable weight to the handlebarsThe beam pattern is what really impressed me, its so wide. Excellent compact secondary light, but not an anti-glare primary headlight
I have been using this alongside a Magicshine EVO 1700, and I think it makes the most sense as a secondary or fill light rather than as the only headlight on a bike.The mounting system is one of its best features. It integrates easily with the Garmin/GoPro-style mounting setup I already use, and the light can be positioned above or below a compatible out-front mount depending on how the rest of the cockpit is arranged. It also twists off the mounting plate quickly, which makes it easy to remove for charging or when leaving the bike unattended.One important detail is that a handlebar or out-front mount is not included. That was not an issue for me because I already had a compatible setup, but someone starting from scratch will need to buy the appropriate mount separately.The four LEDs produce a wide flood of light that does a good job illuminating the area immediately ahead and around the sides of the bike. When paired with a second headlight, it helps fill in some of the darker areas and harsh shadows that can occur with a single concentrated light source. It is especially useful when riding through unusually dark sections where I do not want to use all of the battery from my primary light just to provide wider foreground illumination.The major limitation is that this light does not have a horizontal cutoff. The beam spreads upward as well as downward, so at full brightness it can be uncomfortable or blinding for oncoming cyclists, pedestrians, and drivers.Angling it farther downward reduces the glare, but then much of the brightest light ends up concentrated too close to the front wheel. Because of that, I would not choose it as my primary road or shared-path light when other people are around. It works much better as a supplementary floodlight that can be turned on when the surroundings are especially dark.The light itself is surprisingly small and feels well made. The housing feels solid, the button has a positive response, and the USB-C port has a fitted cover that appears to seal it well against rain and road spray. Despite its small size, the brightness is quite respectable.On the highest setting, mine remained at full or near-full brightness for a little over two hours before noticeably stepping down. It did not immediately shut off at that point, so the total usable runtime was longer, but riders should expect the maximum output to decrease as the battery gets low. USB-C recharging is convenient and reasonably quick.Another limitation for anyone who already owns other Magicshine equipment is that the HORI 700 does not pair with the remote-control system used by compatible Magicshine lights. It must be operated using the button on the light itself. That is manageable, but reaching for the light while riding is less convenient than controlling both lights from the handlebar.Overall, this is a compact, durable, and versatile floodlight that works extremely well as an addition to an existing lighting setup. I would be more hesitant to recommend it as a primary headlight because of the uncontrolled upward glare, but as a secondary light for increasing width, reducing dark areas, and preserving the battery of a more advanced cutoff-beam light, it is a strong value.

Oh Magicshine, how I love your products! I currently own way more magic shine products than I would like to admit, however, there is a very good reason for that and it’s because every single product they make has absolutely blown me out of the water every single time. Their lights have all the features I would ever need they’re all very super bright and as someone who does a lot of Knight riding on anything from bikes to scooters to dirt bikes, I have their lights on every single one front and back. This light is fantastic just like all of their other lights that I’ve ever had and the quality is top-notch just as usual. Also, very easy to use very easy amount. In the mounting choices they have for their lights are incredible. Literally any type of static you have you can integrate their lights into your set up very easily and 99% of the time they’re also very easy to remove, especially if you have to take them out quickly or you storing your bike or you’re leaving your bike outside. You can take them off and all the lights are very small and portable. You can shove it in your pocket while you’re inside the store or wherever you’re at so you don’t have to worry about somebody stealing it. All in all these lights are great they were great. They are very high quality and built with very high-quality materials. You will not be upset with this purchase and you will absolutely love it and you’ll end up coming back for more. I guarantee!

Nice Bright Bike Light, Just Make Sure You Have the Right Mount
This is a really good bike light and much brighter than I expected for something this compact. I like having several brightness levels because I don’t always need it running at full power, especially if I’m riding somewhere that already has decent street lighting. On darker roads, though, the higher setting gives me plenty of light in front of the bike and the beam is wide enough that I can see more than just one narrow spot directly ahead. The only thing that caught me off guard is that the mount isn’t included. I didn’t already have the compatible mount, so I had to order one separately before I could really use the light the way it’s intended. I initially tried making it work with a magnetic mount I already had, but that wasn’t a very good solution and I wouldn’t recommend bothering with that. Just get the proper mount and save yourself the trouble. The battery has lasted well so far, and the light is very lightweight, so once it’s mounted I barely notice the extra weight on the bike. Overall, the light itself is excellent; I just think buyers should pay attention to the mount situation before ordering so they don’t end up with a great light they can’t immediately attach to the bike.

Excellent Wide Flood Light, Best as a Secondary Headlight
The HORI 700 is impressively bright for such a small light, and the wide beam does a great job filling in the foreground and sides instead of concentrating everything into one narrow spot. It is certainly bright enough to be useful on its own, but I prefer using it alongside a more focused primary headlight because the combination gives much more even coverage and eliminates a lot of the darker areas around the bike.The mounting system is one of the strongest parts of the design. It works well with Garmin/GoPro-style mounting setups, locks in securely without wobbling, and can be removed quickly when needed. Just be aware that the actual handlebar or out-front mount is not included, so anyone without an existing compatible setup will need to purchase one separately.Build quality is excellent. The housing feels solid, the light is compact and lightweight, the button has a good tactile response, and the covered USB-C charging port feels well protected from rain and road spray. I have gotten more than three hours of usable light from it on high, although maximum brightness begins stepping down somewhat after a little over two hours rather than remaining at peak output the entire time.My biggest concern is beam control. The wide flood pattern is very useful, but there is enough upward spill that full brightness can be uncomfortable for oncoming riders, pedestrians, or drivers unless the light is aimed downward, and aiming it too low pushes too much of the brightest area close to the front wheel. I also wish the daytime flash pattern were faster and more attention-grabbing, and it would be useful if the HORI 700 could connect to Magicshine’s compatible handlebar remote system. Even with those limitations, this is an excellent compact floodlight with very good output, flexible mounting, strong battery life, and the level of construction quality I have consistently found with Magicshine products.

Cette lampe m’a intéressé par son format compact et léger, mais surtout par la conception de son faisceau.L’éclairage est suffisamment puissant pour bien voir la route, tandis que le faisceau large permet également de mieux percevoir les côtés. Son orientation vers le bas est également bien pensée : elle éclaire efficacement la chaussée tout en limitant l’éblouissement des autres usagers.La recharge par USB-C est pratique et les différents modes d’éclairage permettent d’adapter l’intensité selon les conditions. J’apprécie également son faible poids, sa résistance aux intempéries et la fonction de verrouillage qui évite un allumage accidentel lorsqu’elle est rangée dans un sac.En revanche, il faut savoir que le produit n’est pas livré avec un support de guidon classique. Good battery life, quality and value.
I needed a bike light that would cast light wider than the one I have, which mainly shines straight ahead and has dim areas in front of me while I am riding on some of the paved trails in my area. This light helped fill in the wider areas I needed more light output cast upon.This light is a very high quality built light that is made to be durable and long lasting. It has a good light output, but the light is more of a wider area than it shines the light, and not a super concentrated light beam that shines far off. It should cover the needs of most riders by itself without any other headlight.I already had a Garmin mount on my bike, so this light installed in just a few seconds. Once mounted, it is strong and secure and does not wobble or move around in the mount.The different light modes allow you to adjust the amount of light that you need for your particular situation. It’s water resistant, so you don’t have to worry about it getting ruined in the rain or if it gets wet while out riding. As for run time, I mainly use it on high, and I have gotten over 3 hours of use before needing to recharge it, so battery life is good.As far as value goes, given the high quality of this light and how well it lights the area up in front of you while riding, its price is an excellent value.

Well constructed, but not a primary light.
TL;DR: The light is well constructed but its output is limited and best used as a secondary light to a much more powerful primary light.A very well built and executed light with no flaws I could find, but the output on this light is not bright up enough for it to be a primary light. On its lowest setting, it appears pretty dim and basically unusable to me. Stepping up to middle power, it improve quite a bit. At the highest level, visibility improves drastically over the lowest and middle setting buts it’s still not enough for it to wow me. This would work great as fill light on your bars but I would make your helmet light much more powerful. Say, 3000 lumens. You can’t really have enough light when you’re riding fast in the dark.It’s easy to use and charges effortlessly over USB-C and appears to be made of quality aluminum parts. If you don’t use it to see, you can always use it to be seen with its strobe features. You won’t be missed with this blinking.

Compact, professional‑feeling bike light with decent Garmin‑style mounts
It is worth reiterating at the outset that this light does not come with any bike mounts. First impressions in the hand are excellent: it feels close to professional‑grade, with smooth lines, a solid build, and an overall look that suggests it is more than up to the job. It measures 55 x 58 x 36 mm (with the mounts attached) and weighs 92 g.Performance is broadly what I would expect from a light of this quality and price, and will meet the needs of most riders. With its four individually focused LEDs, there are three selectable full‑brightness modes and two flashing options. It produces a clear, wide beam pattern ahead, though it does not appear to have any upper beam cut‑off as seen on some other LED bike lights.Having tested battery performance using a maximum‑power drain setting, I feel it will be adequate for most users. Battery status is indicated by the illuminated on/off button. From a full charge on maximum brightness it runs for around 1 hr 15 mins until showing a steady red indication, then a further hour until the indicator flashes red and the light automatically steps down in brightness. At this point the instructions recommend recharging, but the lamp will still illuminate for nearly another two hours. Recharging is via a weather‑protected USB‑C socket using the supplied, good‑quality 50 cm USB‑A to USB‑C cable. Charging from the flashing‑red state takes approximately 90 mins, and from fully drained around 2 hrs 40 mins.The main USP of this particular light is the inclusion of standard Garmin‑style mounts. They are high‑quality units – female on the top, male on the bottom – sliding on and off smoothly and locking securely onto compatible Garmin mounts. They are attached to the light using standard six‑lobe Torx screws, so can be easily removed if required.Overall, this is a very high‑quality bike light with secure Garmin‑compatible mounts. Performance is entirely in line with what I would expect at this level, and it should suit the lighting needs of most Garmin‑equipped riders perfectly well.

Great light with very wide beam.
I own several different MagicShine Lights for my bikes and I have always been impressed with the quality of them, so I was interested to see how this Magicshine Hori 700 Bike Light performed.Unlike some of the Magicshine lights I have tried recently this Hori 700 does not have a hard horizontal cutoff of the light beam, but rather a much wider beam pattern than many lights I have tried. This wide beam is broad enough to light up the entire width of the bike path or road in front of you. You can see a comparison in my photos.As per usual from Magicshine the build quality is second to none, the light feels robust and built to last.The light is easy to charge using the USB-C socket on the side of the unit and charges up quickly.The light is rated at 700 lumens on full beam so it is not overly bright but it is plenty bright enough for urban commuting and road riding. There are 3 steady modes, low, medium and high, and 2 flashing modes.The unusual thing about this light is, it doesn’t come with any form of mounting bracket, instead the idea being that you have an existing Garmin bracket which you attach this light to and then your bike computer attaches on the top of this light unit.This is an interesting idea but as the light has absolutely no adjustment it is very reliant on the bracket being perfectly flat, otherwise the light will not be pointing in the ideal direction.Battery life is good, however the only indication of the battery level is the colour of the power button LED on the side, which you can’t easily see when you are riding, also the button is green from 100% all the way down to 21% which is quite a large range to not know the exact battery level, it’s a pity there isn’t a row of LEDs on the top of the unit to indicate the battery level.Overall, a good quality light which is ideal for commuting in the dark or adding a daylight light to your road bike, as long as your existing bracket is set up to the ideal position.
