The Kryptonite Series 2 is a great lock.! This si my 2nd because I have multiple bicycles. However, This one is longer than the other and doesn’t fit in my frame. when i asked for RMA I was charged $8.75 for the return. ( No Amazon) The reseller is Longhorn Moto. So make sure this will fit on your frame first.

“As Advertised”
Lock seems to be as advertised. Hefty and secure, the included mount is very adaptable to achieve various mount locations. We bought the “LS” (long shaft?) model and I’m glad we did as it is just long enough to easily reach out past any fenders/racks to reach a secure lock point/post.One I’ll advise is that the 4″ width is NOT wide enough to be able pas over the rim/tires on the new “fat bikes”… other than that I’m impressed so far and have had no issues locking and unlocking as noted in other reviews.

Works the Way It’s Supposed to Work
Very satisfied with the heavy duty U-Lock. As a fitness errand running cyclist, the device is just fine even being relatively heavy in weight compared to smaller ones. With all the gears on my bike, I don’t notice the extra load at all. Really needed the additional length this lock offers so I could latch my bike to a greater number of fixed objects (I always keep my bike in line of sight–never rely on any one lock). But this locking system is plenty secure enough for my purposes. Go for it if you are okay carrying a little more weightiness than you usually do. I carry the lock on top of my rear saddle bags that are connected to my rack. Works fine!

Really good product to repel bike thieves
I like that it is sturdy, not too heavy and operates with a key. I keep it in my bike bag. So far I’ve been able to lock my bike to a bike rack, sitting bench, and metal chair/table, all of which are found throughout mountain town communities in Colorado. I like it!

Obviously it’s the brand that’s king of U-Locks. But I bet it someone had a battery powered angle grinder they could get through this. Catalytic converter thieves usually carry those around but your typical minor criminal may not have electric tools to steal your bike and so these U-locks definitely do the job. The connector to the bike took some time for me to get it right and sturdily secured to the bike. I originally mounted it on the top but then I decided to get another lock to lock my front tire to the bike. These two pairs well together on the bone. If I had two slider connections there wouldn’t be enough time but this other u-lock swivels to connect to the mounting bracket and therefore doesn’t need extra room to attach to the bike. Just wish I could still have room for a water bottle but locks are more important for city biking.

My E-Bike is insured and the insurance company has a list of approved locks and cable that you can use, if you want them to insure it. This is one of the Locks and cable combo they approve. Smart insurance company “Kryptonite” is one of the best locks on the market.

Key barely unlocks the lock and the bracket is terrible. Very difficult to also have a water bottle.
The lock seems sketchy as the key is really fiddly to get it unlocked and the bracket is crazy.First it’s huge and stick off the frame by easily and inch and a half. My old lock was the same size. It’s mounting bracket allowed my to mount in on the side of vertical bar of the frame and it stuck out by roughly the width of lock which never got in the way of peddling. With the bracket and the lock and now this one sticks out over 2 inches and gets in the way. So, it has to go inside the frame. Either vertically or horizontally it blocks your ability to have a water bottle. Also the bracket has to be mounted so there is room to be able to get the silver mount clip on the lock ahead of the bracket so you can then slide it into place. This means it runs into most frame angle. The only way I have found that works with a water bottle is to mount it horizontally and then adjust the bracket so that the end of the lock stick to the right of the fram at the front. Looks stupid (see the photo) but it works for the most part.Also, the first morning with the lock I clip the lock in and head out on my hour ride to work. 10 minutes in and at speed the lock slides out of its bracket and into my cranks and under the wheel. After avoiding a total clipped-in wipeout on a road with traffic going by, i go back and retrieve the lock (now scuffed up). Apparently there is a stop that isn’t quite locked in place, so if you go with this lock make doubly sure its actually locked in place.And finally the way this mounts to the frame is a nylon strap wrapped around another rubber band. Nylon is notoriously not light stable, so doubtless this bracket is going to disintegrate in the next couple of years since it spends all day in a bike lot in the California sun. It also vibrates while you are riding.PLEASE, Kryptonite, make a low profile bracket for this lock. This bracket system makes your lock complete rubbish. As it is, I just sent this one back and got a lock that fits on my bike and unlocks without having to wiggle the key like a lock pick.
