This thing has one purpose, to make your bike impervious to theft except in the case of someone showing up with an angle grinder, and there is no Defense against an angle grinder short of chaining a guard dog to your bike. The thing is heavy…you aren’t going to want to carry it around 24/7 or while exercising/ training but it would be tolerable for commuting. If you plan or need to carry it 24/7 by wrapping around your seat or using a seat pouch I would probably recommend you look at the next level down, I think it’s called the “keeper” since it will also suffice prevent theft from bolt cutters and hand tools but is much lighter and manageable. I bought this to secure my bike to my car carry rack so I don’t intend to carry it on the bike.

Impressive and Heavy Lock
This is an extremely beefy and impressive lock. I own a nice bike that I park daily on a huge University campus, and tend to look around at what other bikes are using. Trust me, bike thieves are gonna go for any other bike on that rack before they mess with this bad boy. It is heavy, but I’m big guy anyway so an extra 8 lbs doesn’t really matter to me.

DON’T BELIEVE THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS.This lock is strong, well made and a bit heavy. Some have complained of a sticky or non open able lock. I would say that they just don’t get the mechanics of the lock. If there is any pressure on the bolt it will be difficult to impossible to open. Press the first link into the lock body and it opens smooth as silk every time. The lock’s weight is the only reason for the 4 star rating. It is much heavier that the weight listed.

Heavy duty well worth the money
No lock is unbreakable given enough time and effort , but this chain is big enough to get most thieves to judge it not worth the effort . Combine with an inexpensive bike and you can be comfortable your bike will be there when you get back .

Terrible, awful, horrible
This chain is the worst! Long and heavy, and the key insert is totally janky. It works sometimes and others you have to mess around with it to get it in or out. There’s no good place to put the chain when you’re riding. It doesn’t fit below the seat because of the odd length, so it flops around until it rubs against the tire. It has made riding way more stressful because I know I’m going to spend ten minutes with this stupid lock. I would get another one, but I won’t let myself because I spent so much on this steaming piece of crap. Hopefully this will keep anyone else from buying.

Pedí la de 90 cm, y es un tamaño adecuado, la más pequeña me hubiera parecido demasiado corta dificultando su uso. Es pesada, pero tiene que ser así debido a que es bastante robusta, se ven de primera los materiales, la llave funciona sin trabamientos, toda la cadena está recubierta por un tubo de tela y tiene empaques para polvo en la unión al candado. Parece impenetrable, nada que ver con el clásico cable de acero con manguera de colores.
