Strong pads and good value.
I have been using these J05A-RF disc brake pads on my mountain bike for a few months now, and they have been a solid upgrade. I ride a mix of trails, enduro sections, and some longer descents, so I needed pads that could handle heat and keep performing without fading. I also much prefer pads that are as silent as possible. The multi-metal compound with about 70 percent metal content feels really durable. They bite hard and give me confident stopping power even in wet or messy conditions. I have noticed they last longer than my old resin pads, and they seem gentler on the rotor compared to full sintered ones. Braking stays consistent whether I am ripping down a technical trail or riding in the rain. They’re also generally pretty quiet. Not completely, but for metal pads, these are good. The honeycomb cooling fins are my favorite part. They look cool and actually make a difference by shedding heat better. On long descents where things used to get hot and spongy, these pads stay more stable and I have not had any major fade issues. They are perfect for the kind of riding I do.Installation was straightforward too. The included gap regulator tool made adjusting the clearance super easy, and everything fit my Shimano two-piston calipers perfectly with no rubbing. Even as someone who is not a mechanic, I had the new pads in and dialed in quickly. Just remember to push the pistons back in first since the new pads are thicker.Overall I am happy with these pads. They deliver strong, reliable braking with good longevity and heat management. If you ride aggressively or want better performance than basic resin pads, these are worth it. Just double-check your specific Shimano model for compatibility before buying. I would grab another set when these eventually wear out.

OEM fit with good overall performance in dry and wet conditions.
Fit:These pads fit as well as OEM pads. I had no issues at all with installation.Braking power:Good bite, minimal fade.Noise:Almost silent, in dry conditions, and some minimal noise in wet conditions.Cooling:I’ve used these pads while descending up to 2 miles passes, without issue.Compared to OEM:These pads come fairly close to OEM Shimano.Bottom line:I have no reservations with using these pads on any of my bikes, in any conditions.4 stars

Quality Packaging
I haven’t put these on my bike yet, but they seem good quality, and they’re very attractively-packaged. I’m not sure if the fins help with anything, but they look cool.

Works just like the originals, nice value replacement.
The brake pads on my Shimano XT-equipped bike were wearing out, and I needed replacements. These looked like usable alternatives to the stock brake pad. They have large cooling fins, which help keep them cool on extended descents, though that doesn’t super apply to the bike that I installed these in because it’s an XC bike. I didn’t notice any brake fade at any point while riding with these. The stopping power remained consistent from the start of the ride all the way to the end, so the heat dissipation must be doing a decent job. They fit in the caliper without issue and don’t rattle around any more or any less than the stock Shimano XT pads do. There is some slight chatter when going over rougher terrain, but that’s only because I was specifically listening for that sound, as that’s a common complaint with XT brakes. The wear pattern on the brake pads after 50 miles of use seems consistently even, which is to say that the compound on the pads seems like it’s of high quality.I have zero complaints about these brake pads. They work great, they fit in the caliper exactly as you’d expect them to, and best of all, they cost less than the stock brake pad, which is what I’m all about. 10 out of 10.

Solid replacement brake pads for Shimano road brakes
I’ve been experimenting with various compatible brake pads for Shimano road brakes to find something that is both economical and works well. The CNCLOL brake pad kit is pretty close to being comparable to stock Shimano pads, but they are half the price, or similar price for 2 pairs instead of one. The cooling fins look to have more surface area than stock Shimano, which should translate to claimed better heat dissipation. The pad compound is resin with brass-based metal, which is said to be durable, quiet, AND provides stable braking performance. So far on the bike the braking action is nothing to note, it feels similar to stock metal brakes. The fins sit a bit higher than stock Shimano, but I haven’t detected any performance advantage yet. Nothing beats stock Shimano pads, but these are not bad for the price.

Make sure your model is specifically listed
My Shimano XTR brakes need replacement, so I picked up these disc brake pads as an alternative to the OEM since the description specifically said it was compatible with XTR 2-piston brakes, which mine are. Unfortunately, they actually do not fit my XTR brakes even though they are not listed on the “not compatible” list and are similar to all the compatible models (mine are BR9100 and these fit all the other 9000 series). I’m sad because these seem like great value at a full set (front and rear) for less than one set of OEM and the material seems lightweeight and is made of quality T6 aluminum. The presentation and packaging was also much nicer than OEM!All in all, these will serve you well, but make sure that your model number is actually explicitly listed and not just the trim (ie XTR or XT).
