Sparkling chain without taking it off the bike…
I have been using these chain cleaners for 20+ years. I have to buy them on occasion because I drop and break them, lose parts, or move and then can’t find ‘em. Regardless, these chain cleaners do a fantastic job of getting off all the road grit and whatever sticks to the chain. I know I could probably get my chain cleaner if I took the chain off and soaked it…but…I’m just a guy who likes to ride his bike 20+ miles a day for exercise and fitness. It is my belief that the easier it is to make something happen, the more likely it will happen. In this case, putting my bike on the stand and using this tool to clean the chain is about as easy as it gets and the results are every bit as good as I need. Because it is easy, I do it much more frequently than I would if I had to unlink my chain, soak it, scrub it, reinstall it and relink it. Just not going to do that…and I like a clean chain which reduces the wear. That said, be prepared to spill a little degreaser (or whatever you clean your chain with) and make a bit of a mess…but it is contained in the area just below the run of the chain and you can just put down an old rag to catch the drips. When done, it cleans up nicely itself with just a bit of a rinse in the sink. In all, an excellent product that I will continue to use for years to come.

Vor dem Kauf habe ich die billigen Alternativen angeschaut, aber nach nun mehrmaliger Verwendung kann ich sagen dass der höhere Preis es wert ist.Es ist stabil, liegt gut in der Hand, die Bürsten laufen gut und der Schwamm ist groß genug um möglichst wenig Flüssigkeit aus dem Gerät mit der Kette raus zu lassen.Griff auf die richtige Seite stecken, Kettenreiniger bis zur Markierung füllen, an die Kette setzen und von oben den Deckel drauf. Ich mache nach Gefühl viele Umdrehungen der Pedale – je länger desto gründlicher.Zwischendurch durch die kleine Mulde auf der Oberseite noch etwas Reiniger nachfüllen da die erste Befüllung sich wegen des Schwamms reduziert.Ganz ohne die Hände dreckig zu machen wird die Kette echt gut sauber, ggf. kurze Pause zum Einwirken der Flüssigkeit lassen und dann mit einem Tuch gründlich nachwischen. Ritzel auch reinigen und Kettenöl drauf, fertig.Das Kettenreinigungsgerät einfach unter fließendem Wasser reinigen und trocknen lassen.Auf der Unterseite gibt es einen Magneten, der keinen Kontakt mit dem Wasser hat, aber mit einem eingesteckten Plastikteil gehalten wird. Zum Reinigen Magnet abmachen und ausspülen, dann geht auch der Metallspan einfach weg.Dieses Plastikteil das den Magneten hält ist auch mein größter Kritikpunkt – es wirkt etwas zerbrechlich, könnte mir vorstellen dass es irgendwan nicht mehr hält.Aber der Magnet ist super nützlich, denn es sammelt sich bei jeder Reinigung sehr viel Metallspahn an, der so aus der Flüssigkeit gesammelt und somit nicht wieder in die Kette eingebracht wird.Insgesamt kann ich das Gerät sehr empfehlen, weil es einem die Arbeit wirklich leicht macht und man somit die Reinigung der Kette auch häufiger macht, was der Haltbarkeit hilft.

A great boon for cleaning bicycle chain, fuss free. I use it with BLOB degreaser and the chain is sparkling clean all the time of the year. A great product and must have for all cycling enthusiasts.

I’ve been put off by the price of this tool for quite some time but finally decided to give it a try. I’ve only used it once so far, but I found out almost immediately it’s vastly superior to the cheapie I’ve used for years. It’s easier to handle, does a much better cleaning job while also being much less messy, and my bike chain runs through it smoothly with no “catches.” A winner all-around. Worth the money!

I’m glad I spent the money to get this. Chain maintenance is my least favorite part of owning bicycles but it’s pretty important in order to keep the entire drivetrain in shape, otherwise you end up needing to swap more than just the chain. Fill the scrubber with degreasing liquid and start spinning your crank! The liquid turns very dark very soon, indicating how dirty your chain is. Very effective. Do be careful to not pull on the chain while spinning or you’ll end up shifting gears or straight up derailing the chain and getting it stuck into the frame of the bike.I like that the scrubber disassembles to become flat and can be stored away easily. You can also take all the brushes off to clean them and the container after using them. This is a must have for any bike owner.
