Good price, fits well, fell off immediately

So far I like it but on my very first ride and first bump the cover fell off and batteries flew out. I’m giving it a second chance by adding a zip tie to hold it together. The brightness and size are good. It’s not too bright but I think it’s good enough for night rides.

Fits any rack, great light and long battery life.

This is your standard European-style LED taillight that mounts to the luggage rack. By using a single LED with molded plastic to carry the light and AA batteries, this light runs seemingly forever on a pair of batteries. It also lights up quite nicely, making you visible to other traffic after dark.Three sets of mounting holes (80mm, 50mm, and center mount) mean it should fit any luggage rack with a light tab. Included hardware is good quality and fits great without scraping up your rack. It’s a little difficult to get open for battery changes thanks to the tight fit of the two pieces and seal, and it’s important to make sure the top tabs fit in the slot before closing it, but once installed correctly the light isn’t going anywhere.Batteries are included, but I have two of these and one came with leaking batteries and one with dead batteries. They don’t come installed, so no harm no foul. Bring your own batteries. This is a few bucks more than the cheapest rack-mount lights but it’s worth every cent.

Excellent choice, especially for wet weather.

Excellent rack light. It’s waterproof. I’ve had several lights and it’s the best.I live in Florida and have been in a few heavy rains with no problem. The cover is a bit difficult to take off, but that’s fine because it’s actually waterproof. The switch is not super snappy, but again it’s waterproof, and it won’t get accidentally bumped on/off very easily. It’s a safe on/off light without blinding brightness or strobing.I did have to drill a new hole in my rack tab because of the screw spacing, so you should measure to be sure.

    Bare-bones, but good value

This light has a single LED and no blink functions. It’s solid on/off. But the construction was heavy enough to justify the $15 price tag, and the attachment to my 50mm rack was seamless. It has slots for 80mm as well.

Not the best, but it works

I sold Cateye products for a decade when they were all made in Japan. This only has one mode-on or off. No blinking. It is visible and does work, but you have to press and hold to turn off/on. The old Vistalite flashing reflectors from the 1980’s were far better though, and so were the 80’s/90’s Cateye versions. I bought this since I recognized the brand and knew of the quality. I guess I need to wake up and stop relying on old information.

    Good addition to my bike

Perfect for my Dutch bike. Doesn’t blink, but I have dynamo lights so this is supplemental. Holds up well on my bike stored outside 100% of the time

“Tool-less” battery installation required tools. Stingy design.

Bought this because it was the only rear light that I could find that supported my center-set rack mounting holes. The “tool-less” battery installation required tools. I used a screwdriver to push in the inner clear dot past the black D-shaped clip. A real screwdriver would have been much preferred. The battery installation process was just awful.Additionally, the ‘on’ switch is not a real button; it’s just a part of the case that bends a bit. I’ve never ever had a bike light this stingy.I don’t think I’m going to buy European parts again.

    Photos didn’t load correct order

This 5 stars, straight up.Only way this fails is one user error.Grab a flat head screw driver that’s plenty wide and twist it on the bottom to separate the backing and light framePull the bottom apart and it will come apart super simple. Reverse direction when putting back together.Thankfully for me the batteries that came in were good, but the lense fell out of the packaging but no sign of damage. It want a 100% perfect fit. Close enough it should never fall apart, but I can easily slide it up and down.Fornthe money and if the longevity of the batteries is true. For this price at once a year makes it worth more than most “modern” tail lights.Only thing I wish to see if they update this model is to add a blinking feature. Blinking draws better attention and increases battery life even furtherIncluded pictures is total darkness light on from 100+ feet, total darkness 10 feet, light on with flash., and finally flash with no light on.
