Does exactly what it’s supposed to. Keeps the headlight on my helmet. Nice alternative to handle bar mounts for me when I’m switching among 4 bikes. Will also give me a second headlight for night riding.Haven’t done any mountain biking with it just low key street rides. I did use it for a hands free flashlight while doing some wiring and I needed light.

I have kept this strap on my helmet year round and has aged well, the plastic has kept well under the hard UV rays and the metal screw have not rusted, very nicely built and a good way to helmet mount your Cateye light since it uses the same mounting mechanism for almost all of them.

enables mounting of the very lightweight Volt 200 for night vision
Use this to hold my Cateye Volt 200 on my bicycle helmet for line of sight night vision (supplemental to my Cateye Volt 700 as main light on my handlebars). The slips through the slots in the helmet. I mount it more forward instead of centered on top and use the pivot mechanism to orient the height of the beam. Does not interfere underneath and enables mounting of the very lightweight Volt 200 for night vision.

Worked well. I used it on my helmet for an early morning gravel race (dark start). Held light in place with no issues, and I was able to remove the light as I rode once it was light out, so I didn’t have the additional weight on my head.

Mounted quickly and easily to my helmet for these shorter days. Velcro strap was longer than needed so I trimmed the excess. Works great.

Works as intended
Worn for doing wheelies. Keeps steady even on hard landings or hopping curbs. I have not had the light move on the pivot. (Although I have not brought it mountain biking, since the light it holds is not strong enough for that.)The velcro band is very long, way longer than needed for my helmet, it sticks out the helmet and I have to double it over. Really I should just cut it to fit clean, but this means you would need a giant helmet way out of the norm in order for the velcro to not be long enough.I have a road bike and a mountain bike helmet and it fits both. BMX Skatepark helmets might not have the required vent holes to mount the bracket to.

Good alternative mount
The velcro strap was a waste of time for my helmets. Velcro material gets caught on helmet materials. After 20 minutes of frustration, I used two zip ties. Seems to be ok for now. I own a Bontrager Stravos and a Smith MIPPS helmet. Would like to get another Cateye helmet mount when they’re availabe.

Use with my Volt 300, Great Solution
Bought this to mount my “looker-light” CatEye 300V Headlight, Silver to my Bell helmet.It straps on easily enough and has plenty of adjustability to get the beam where I want it. Once set it is very secure.I like the idea of having a high-mount light for being seen over cars, and when the 300 is in use with my 700, I have a bright forward light and the ability to see around me as well.Highly recommended.

Superó mis expectativas
Esta montura para casco funciona para todas las luces de CATEYE, aunque la descripción menciona que solo es compatible con algunas luces, yo me busqué en la página oficial de CATEYE y vi que es compatible con las dos luces que tengo (mismas que no están listadas en la publicación como compatibles), que son una VOLT 800 y una VOLT 1600. Me encantó que el velcro que tiene en su cinta es bastante fuerte, y además, puedes usarlo de forma horizontal o de forma vertical, dependiendo de la forma y orificios de tu casco. Otra cosa que me gustó mucho es que una vez fijado el velcro, no se mueve ni “bailotea” la lámpara con el movimiento de mi cabeza o las imperfecciones del camino, queda muy firme al casco. Yo compré 2 porque no había encontrado en ninguna tienda donde vendieran este producto. Lamentablemente se agotó el stock en Amazon, pero inmediatamente vuelvan a surtir, compraré más porque el precio es una verdadera ganga, nunca está de más tener repuestos por si acaso. Amolda en cualquier tipo de casco, tanto de ruta como urbano, lo único que necesita es que el casco tenga orificios de ventilación. Aquí les dejo un par de fotos para que vean cómo quedó en mi casco urbano. Saludos.
