    … WITH 2007 ULTRA TORQUE CRANKSFound ultra torque Record 10 speed cranks from Planet Cyclery (and also Amazon) for $119. Quite the deal if one doesn’t mind riding with only 10 cogs in the rear. An unexpected benefit over the old square ended crank is the increased q-factor (pedal width) increased by about 6-8mm which made my 20 year old Litespeed Ti bike much more comfortable. I always wondered why this bike was less comfortable than my tandem with exactly the same geometry, well, it was the q-factor that I didn’t measure. I had always assumed the best racing design is one with the narrowest pedal spacing, boy was I wrong, so comfy to lay down power longer now.

    These are genuine Campagnolo Record Ultra-Torque bearing cups.

    These are classic Campy gear; well-made, unique to Campy, often requiring special tools to install, but fool-proof and durable and beautifully made. My road bike has a Centaur 10-speed group. It had 15,000 miles on it, so I decided to replace the bearing cups, the bearings, the seals, and the wavy washer. Done, torqued to spec, and ready to ride. Excellent.
