Expectation: Enough ferrules (end caps) to cover the ends of the sections of housing, enough housing for both front and rear derailleur cables, and cables that make it the front and back derailleurs.This kit provides more than enough ferrules, along with some nice hangers, and cable donuts to protect your frame. The housing is great quality, and I had enough to cover both runs to the derailleurs. Although it wasn’t a surprise, it’s worth noting it comes with a shorter cable for the front derailleur, which is a perfectly fine assumption for a majority of bikes (given the front derailleur is closer), but was almost too short for my bike, which has a down swing front derailleur (another centimeter, and I wouldn’t have been able to use the cable). So start with three stars for meeting basic expectations.As mentioned above, this kit comes with some great extras. There’s plenty of cable donuts, which was a great bonus. There’s more than enough ferrules, this is where most other (budget) kits skimp. There’s a nice supply of cable hangers included, which I’ll use on another bike. They even give you extra crimp-on end caps! Add a star (from three to four) for providing helpful bits-n’-bobs.Finally, the cable housing is really nice quality. Supple enough to bend around corners without kinking, good quality PTFE that cuts cleanly, and a cable liner that doesn’t just collapse when cut. Add a star (from four to five) for being higher quality than expected.Additional notes: there’s enough housing in the kit to do both front and rear derailleur runs on most bikes, with a little left over. You’ll come up short if your bike doesn’t have any gaps in the housing runs. I have bare cable along the top tube, and along the seat stay. If either of those areas had used housing, this kit would not have provided enough.Finally, one reason this kit is so affordable is because you’re not paying for extra material (of which there is just barely enough). They provide enough to do most bikes, and the manufacturer tells you exactly how long the cables and housing are. It’s on the buyer to measure, and make sure it works.

Easy to install. I have zero experience changing out the shifter cables and was able to do it easily. Make sure you have some clippers to shorten your tubes. Works nicely for my bike!

Small plastic end caps but everything else is great
The reason for the 4 star vs. 5 is the plastic cap size and quality. On both bikes where I used these, the move around and do not sit snug in the cable receiver. The rest if the kit is great.

Only 2 meters of housing. This is not enough housing to do both shifter cables. Best to buy a kit that includes the snipping tool and enough housing for your job.
