Gets your calipers centered perfectly in 10 quick steps!
This tool is nice, saves so much time when centering calipers to rotors. They arrive in a pack of 3, although you really just need one at a time (put the other two away in case you lose the first one). The method I use is as follows:1. Remove wheel2. Spread pads full open3. Loosen brake caliper mounting bolts4. Reinstall wheel5. Place Birzman tool onto brake rotor6. Rotate wheel until Birzman tool is centered in between the brake pads7. (Important!) Squeeze brake lever a few times to center caliper, hold lever closed8. Tighten brake caliper mounting bolts to correct torque9. Release brake lever10. Rotate wheel, remove Birzman toolThe above takes only a couple of minutes – much faster than trying to eyeball it and doing the caliper centering manually. This tool is worth the $10 in time saving alone.

Habe zuvor x-mal versucht, die Scheibenbremsen einzustellen. Insbesondere habe ich versucht, die Einstellung optisch, u.a. unter Zuhilfenahme einer Leuchte, vorzunehmen. Auch die empfohlene Vorgehensweise Schrauben der Bremse lösen, Bremshebel anziehen und angezogen halten, Schrauben wieder anziehen, hat nicht funktioniert.Mit dieser Einstellehre geht das wunderbar und gelingt auf Anhieb. Die Lehre funktioniert für Bremsscheiben bis 2,3 mm Stärke. Bei meinen Bemsscheiben (Magura, 2 mm) passt es.Es ist dreimal die gleiche Lehre in dem Set.Vielleicht ist der Preis ein wenig hoch. Aber wenn die Einstellung so einfach wird, ist es mir das wert.Falls ich beim weiteren Gebrauch andere Erfahrung mache, werde ich die Bewertung revidieren.

I wasn’t expecting much with these. I had tried another, more expensive, simliar product before, but it didn’t work at all. With this product, (1) I loosened my caliper bolts (2) I put this around my rotor and rolled the caliber and tool in between my hydraulic disc brake calipers. The fit was snug. I need to feed it in between the calipers manually. (3) I squeezed the brake lever and then tightened the caliper bolts. (4) I pushed these out of the calipers. That’s it. Perfectly aligned brakes! Took me less than 2 minutes per brake. This was way better than the alternative!

Centering disc brakes is tricky. You can have them set just right then tighten the bolts and it twists the calipers just slightly enough to rub. I would say this thing works about 70% of the time which is awesome but bike frame caliper mounts just aren’t perfectly flat. If they were I’m sure this would be in the high 90 percentile. I use this everyday on 4-5 bikes. It’s always a great starting point then you have to adjustulate to make sure the caliper doesn’t move slightly while torquing the bolts or those pesky bike gnomes that change the calipers once you squeeze the brake and it starts rubbing. Make sure to follow the directions and go back and forth slightly between bolts. It’ll take some practice but there’s done fine tuning once you get the tool on the disc brake. It’s definitely not a ‘set it and forget it’ tool, unless your caliper mounts are perfect.

Great product
I bought one, glad to know that it would work on my disk brake rotors, no matter whether they turned out to be male or female. I haven’t even sexed them yet, so no idea what gender they are but these clams helped me identify which part of the rotor was rubbing and straighten it out. It comes with three which is a bonus as they are necessarily thin and easy to damage.

I was not at all hopeful if this will work. I thought it’s similar to using business cards/paper between the pads and rotors but it’s not. It literally works like a magic. Must have for anyone who has disk brakes. Takes a minute to center the rotor between pads. I was so frustrated with truing of rotors, visually making the calipers centered and yet not getting the desired results the first time. This tool makes it a breeze. Especially for bike owners who often remove wheels for hauling or those who use the same wheels on different bikes with different rotors.Buy it you won’t regret
