Close reach handlebar stem.
This is a short handlebar stem that fits a standard 1 1/8″ fork and 31.8 mm handlebars. I like the fact that this is a shorter stem (35 mm) which gives you a closer reach to the handlebars and a more upright position when riding. The fit and finish is good, and the installation is easy for even a beginner bike mechanic. They thoughtfully include an allen wrench just in case you don’t already have one. It’s made of aluminum and appears to be built heavy enough for some moderate trail riding, which is what I will be using it for.

I wanted my bars closer to me and I went from a long stem to a short on and let me say what a difference it made on my ride along with the stem riser I have also I can sit almost straight up.

i installed this with a new stem riser on my wife’s bike to accommodate a thicker handlebar. also replaced the old fashioned single piece quill-style riser. there has been no loosening or shaking since it was installed. now her bike looks like the fancy, more expensive bikes.

Vorab: Ich habe diesen Artikel im Rahmen des VINE Programms kostenlos zum Test erhalten.Unabhängig davon gebe ich immer möglichst objektive Bewertungen ab.Hier habe ich einen Vorbau von Kelxu zum Test erhalten.Der Vorbau wurde gewohnt schnell in einem kleinen Karton geliefert.Das Material ist CNC-gefrästes Aluminium, welches in diesem Fall Schwarz lackiert ist.Alle Teile sind sauber gearbeitet und es gibt keinerlei scharfe Kanten oder Ähnliches.Die Drehmomentangaben sind an den Schraublöchern vorhanden und es liegt sogar ein Inbusschlüssel für die Schrauben bei.Der Preis von ca. 20 € ist in meinen Augen ein super Preis.Falls ich im Gebrauch etwas Negatives feststelle, werde ich dies hier nachtragen.

He comprado esta potencia de 35 mm para acortar el alcance (reach) de mi bicicleta de montaña de Enduro y la verdad es que estoy gratamente sorprendido. Cumple de sobra con su función por una fracción de lo que cuestan las marcas premium.Lo que más me ha gustado:Estética y acabado: El mecanizado CNC se nota limpio y sin imperfecciones. El acabado anodizado le da un aspecto muy profesional y moderno al puesto de conducción.Control inmediato: Al ser tan corta, la dirección se vuelve muchísimo más reactiva y ágil. Da mucha confianza en bajadas técnicas y zonas reviradas.Peso contenido: Es bastante ligera (unos 124 gramos), lo cual está genial para este rango de precio ya que no añade peso innecesario a la parte delantera.Tornillería robusta: Los tornillos aguantan bien el par de apriete sin dar la sensación de que se van a pasar de rosca fácilmente.A tener en cuenta / Aspectos a mejorar:Acabado interno: En mi unidad, la pintura o anodizado interior de la abrazadera del manillar venía con una capa un poco gruesa. Recomiendo revisarla bien antes de montar para no rayar el manillar si entra muy justo.Uso recomendado: Aunque el anuncio dice que sirve para carretera, considero que 35 mm es una medida puramente para MTB (Enduro, Trail, All-Mountain). Para carretera te dejará una dirección demasiado nerviosa e inestable.Instalación:Recomiendo usar una llave dinamométrica para apretar los tornillos en cruz de forma progresiva. De esta forma la presión se reparte perfectamente y no cruje nada en ruta.Veredicto:Si buscas mejorar la postura en tu MTB, ir más erguido o ganar control en las bajadas sin gastar mucho dinero, es una compra totalmente recomendada. Cumple con las 3 B: buena, bonita y barata.

Great budget short stem for light MTB riding.
If you are looking for a short MTB stem for 31.8mm bars on a very tight budget, then this does fit the bill quite well, but don’t consider this to be a long-term option, especially if you find yourself on the more aggressive side of riders.The stem is quite lightweight, and seems to have shaved material anywhere that they could without making it an immediate liability. The design of the screws clamping down over the bar means that most of the load during landings will be transmitted through the bolts instead of the stem, and this could possibly be a failure point on more extreme landings.If you only do light trail riding, or XC riding, this may work quite well for you and be a good way to save some money, but do keep in mind that trying to save money on a component like this can be a serious safety concern, so don’t go hucking to flat with this stem.The branding is quite minimal though so this helps them not be as tacky as other generic brands tend to be.The only other complaint worth noting is the bolts did not come included with any loctite applied to them, which is fairly standard for MTB stems and something I’ve seen with every other stem I’ve bought, this wasn’t a problem for me as I was using dress-up bolts anyways but if you plan on using the included bolts you will need to supply your own threadlocker.🌟 1 Star: I do not recommend this product at all, it has serious flaws and needs to be refined before I can recommend purchasing it🌟🌟 2 Stars: This product may have some major flaws, but there is still some good things about it. (I.E. Pretty nice for the price
Kelxu Bike Stem feels like quality for the price. The short stem is nicely CNC machined 6061-T6 aluminum alloy, inexpensive as well as lightweight. Easy to install and comes with stainless steel bolts and Hex key.Use this to increase control on single tracks and/or relax your riding posture a bit or both. Gives you more control over your bike. Compatible with both MTB or Road bike. Pretty good for casual riding or light duty offroad mtb. measure your setup to ensure it fits.
