Great Price for an Excellent Bike Chain and Cassette Cleaning Kit
This is a great deal for a complete bicycle chain and cassette cleaning kit. The brushes work very well in removing dirt and grit from every nook and cranny along the bike chain and cassette assembly. I particularly like the chain cleaning device that snaps onto the chain in front of the derailer and allows you to simply scrub the chain by running the pedal backwards. You will need to purchase some chain cleaning solution to accomplish this task. This is a must have bicycle accessory to keep your bicycle in good running order and will also extend the life of the chain and cassette assembly. There is also a bicycle chain included, which generally would cost twice the price of the cleaning kit alone! It appears to be very good quality and well oiled. This is a nice bonus for when your chain finally needs to be replaced. Great product at a great price.

Keeping the chain squeak free!
I’ve been spending most of my riding time lately on the mountain bike. I’ve been travelling on the road a bit and the area I’m currently staying in does not have safe roads to ride a street bike so I’ve retreated into the hills. And being back in the woods on unpaved roads inevitably leads to a very dirty, muddy chain and then the dreaded “chain suck” takes over. This is a very basic chain cleaning kit that comes with everything (except solvent) needed to keep my chain clean and squeak free. There’s a heavy gauge three-sided brush for cleaning off the big stuff then two smaller brushes for getting into the cassette, chain rings, and the chain links. The cleaning unit came mostly disassembled and took me a few minutes to put together. I was having a very had time getting the top of the cleaner to close and then discovered that a piece of hard plastic, apparently from the mold, hadn’t been trimmed off properly. Once I trimmed it off the cover went on and off without a hitch. There’s also a handle for the cleaner that could be used, if desired. I have found that the rear derailleur will hold the cleaning unit as long as I don’t pump too hard on the pedals while it’s attached. I’ve also found move the derailleur into a higher gear will move the cleaning unit away from the frame and help add to the ease of chain cleaning. The kit comes with a replacement chain, with master link, that is only good up to an 8 speed. I am running far more gears than that so the chain is of no use. It’s also a very heavy chain. As a side note, I tend to use Simple Green undiluted for cleaning my chains. WD-40 also makes a great chain cleaning product and helps remove grease and grime from between the chain links.
