Does What It Was Designed To Do
There are 3 kinds of tools: cheap junk, value tools and rugged precision. This Aunocy bicycle chain tool is a value tool. Perfect for the home but I wouldn’t suggest it for use in a bike shop (although you could). The design of the chain pliers, pin remover and measure/holder all do their jobs well.If you’re like me and would use these tools a few times a year than you can’t beat the bargain. As you may have noticed there are quite a few of these tools sold on Amazon under different names. Go for the best price.

Chain removing tool leaves much to be desired for older vintage chains.
All of my chains have solid pins, and solid plates. The pin extractor works good., and also to press the pin back in. This tool has the extra slot so you can expand the link to get a precise factory setting, however it suffers from inability to expand link easily on chains with curved plates. The teeth on the tool are too small to hold the chain firmly in place.. This is especially a problem with vintage chains like the Unglide, or the French Sedis both have curved plates. The chain rides up on the too small teeth and the alignment goes off. This is a serious defect and I cannot recommend this chain tool for the 5 speed Uniglide or the Sedis chains. With many tries being careful not to bend the plates, I did get get the chain link properly expanded so it would rotate smoothly but old Cyclo tool from the 70ties with its larger teeth worked much better and faster. . The old chain tools were crude but they worked much better on the thicker chains. (8mm) .. Something the Chinese need to study. Overall I cannot recommend this chain pin tool for chains with curved plates ,unless you are an experienced mechanic that has worked on many chains, I strongly suggest you stay away from this tool .This tool worked good on most 5/6 speed chains , old Regina chains, Hkk chains, and single speed track chains, they all had flat plates.

Used to replace my chain and worked well. Tools feel reasonably well made, which surprised me given the price. So far I am happily surprised. We will see how long they last, but good initial impression.

Worked well, fixed 21 Speed Mtn Bike
Tools were exactly what was needed to repair my bike chain. Fixed a 21 speed mountain bike chain without much hassle. Of the 3 links that came with it, only 1 link, the one with the triangle symbol, works for those chains.
