Easy to install and fit right over the brakes and …

Tried the bar mitts on my road bike in 40 degree weather. Whomever invented the bar mitts is a genius. No more cold hands while riding. I used full fingered cycling gloves underneath and my hands did not get cold at all. Easy to install and fit right over the brakes and gear. It is not difficult to get used to or to use the gears and brakes.

    Crucial to maintain hand warmth

I bought these after much research into the best hand protection for winter biking. I had been biking daily year round for 9 years before purchasing these, and wow was I ever an idiot for not buying these sooner.

Works ok, but not great for larger gloves/hands

These are on a Surly LHT with bar end shifters. Originally bought the dual position version, but they were horrible. Not warm at all and too small to allow any sort of dual position use. These ones are slightly better. A little warmer but, I am commuting (20mins) to work and with temps below 10F I am getting some beginnings of numbness. This is while wearing Pearl Izumi AMFIB lobster mitts. While wearing these mitts (AMFIB) in the pogies there is not a lot of room, so I can’t imagine using a burlier glove or having larger hands. So they work, but not ideal especially at lower temps.

Performs better than I imagined they possibly could

These absolutely revolutionize winter biking. With these, I don’t need to wear gloves until ~15-20F, and I’ve comfortably gone down to ~0F just wearing liners.A couple minor caveats: prolonged use may screw up your bar tape, and forcing your hands into one position can make long rides uncomfortable. But next to the upsides, I think these are barely worth mentioning.

    Drop Bar… Bar mitts

I like the idea of this product. Unfortunately, it does not keep your hands warm and it doesn’t give you enough room to utilize the drop bar. I do hope the company continues to expand on the bar mitts concept.

Can’t go into the drop position and that should be made clear in the description.

They keep your hands warm, but they are not a great solution for long rides or hilly rides as you can’t access the drop bar. There’s just not enough room to get your hands down there. As a result, you lose breaking power because you can’t have your hands lower on the break levers, which is a major safety concern on big downhills; you lose aerodynamic advantage, crucial on windy days; and also important, you lose the comfort of repositioning. The product description should make it clear that you lose both functionality and safety when these are in use. That being said, I’m keeping them because I know that when it’s below freezing I’ll still be able to ride. It’s just that I can’t ride fast, aggressively, or for long distances. So for now, they are not on the bike, but they are insurance for when the temps drop into the 20s. Easy to install.

Work great and easy to install IF YOU BUY THE RIGHT ONES

Easy to install ONCE YOU GET THE RIGHT KIND for your handlebars. This model is for drop bars with exposed cables.Have only tested down to the high 30’s but my hands were toasty warm. On another ride in the high 40’s my hands were actually sweating a bit.

    Pretty solid

I debated buying these for a while but finally broke down. There’s pros and vins to these. I thought they were easy to install and uninstall, allowing you to start a ride with them on and then remove them or vice versa without much difficulty. Also relatively easy to carry in a pack or possibly even on your kit. That being said, they aren’t quite as warm as I’d hoped. I think if you’re in temps between 40 and 55 degrees F, they’ll be fine but lower than that, I’d probably look elsewhere

Don’t bother buying the used option from Amazon!

I was excited to find this product used and at a great price, directly from Amazon. I was pretty disappointed when I opened the package and found only one mitt. My guess is they don’t check returns and resell. Don’t bother with used.
