Good affordable lock for bike!
This is a great lock! Comes with a cable to add extra security and loop through your wheels! You can also use this lock on a pit bike or electric bike as there is good clearance with the lock. I used it with our little pit bike with off road tires. It’s not too heavy, is a decent size, is well made and sturdy, and is a very good value for the cost. It has held up so far through the last few months I’ve had it, whether it’s in the back of my truck, or in the garage being used. So far it has been a good lock. Thank you!

U lock for U bike
Very heavy duty. That’s what we were looking for.We need to up our game. Our son has had 2 bikes stolen. He works for a company that won’t let him keep his bike inside. They have an outside bike rack But, it’s outside their gates and in an alley. It’s like they are asking people to take his bike.When they can’t take his bike they take items off his bike; lights, water bottle, phone holders, seat covers. It’s pretty obnoxious.So, to protect the bike itself, we heard that these U locks are harder to get through and are more secure.It feels like it. This this is heavy!Price isn’t bad especially compared to the cost of a new bike.This son doesn’t drive so his option is a bike. We got an ebike but decided that it would be too much of a temptation for someone for him to ride it to work. His company refuses to put up a camera because they don’t want the liability it would bring.But we can use this for the ebike when we are in other locations that are more in the public view.

As I have been working to get the family’s bikes in order this spring one of the things I had neglected was a lock for my own. Living in a town where people’s bikes get liberated from their ownership frequently, I decided I needed something heavy duty. That’s where this guy comes in. I will start off with the only negative I found in this lock set, and that is my particular bike did not accommodate the frame mount for it. That is not a shortcoming of the bike lock, but my particular frame does not have room inside it (Giant Talon) I can carry it in my backpack.Anyway, The set up is fairly clever. inside the box you will find the lock, the steel cable (which you can secure through the U bolt and feed through the rims of your wheels to keep them from rolling away) 3(!) keys for it, and the frame mount along with a screwdriver.Use the screwdriver to loosen the screw on one side of the frame mount, pivot it 180 degrees it is facing outward and tighten that same screw. Then use the screwdriver to let out the straps on the frame mount, wrap around the frame tube and retighten them. You are ready to go.The key turns nicely in the lock without hesitation. I appreciate there are 3, as I have been known to lose things on occasion. One for me, one for my kid to have as backup, and then one extra for the key hook inside the house just in case.I didn’t try to take a pair of bolt cutters to it, but there is not a lot of room to try and get in without going through the plastic layer which tends to slow those things down a little. Long enough for someone to say, “Excuse me, please stop stealing that bike!” In any case, the presence of the lock itself is generally enough of a deterrent for folks.I found it was easy to feed through a bike rack and loop the cable through as well to keep the bike all tied together. Nobody stole it while I was in the store, so that in itself speaks volumes. Color is a basic black and has a semi-matte finish. The cable’s coating is sort of a smoky color.
